Why do people who don't agree with eachother live in the same area?

From a relationship perspective, it makes finding friends and a spouse much harder.
From an ecology perspective, it risks species extinctions.
From a political and legal perspective, no matter who runs the area or what laws get enacted, some or many will be unhappy.
From an architecture perspective, it makes towns and cities look disjointed and ugly.
From a local hangout perspective, one person's haven is another's nusiance, and from a pets perspective, the same applies.

People should be around those who agree with them. Those who like and want the same things.

But thats idealistic, in reality you can't just up and leave your family just because you don't agree with them or the majority in your area.

So whats the solution? How can people live how they want when others around them make that impossible?

Because people should be able to express disagreements in a healthy matter. Homogenization crates harmony, but also prejudice.

Prejudice exists regardless of harmony being there or not, its just an ugly way of saying personal preferences.

No amount of mixing is going to make someone more tolerant of things they find disruptive, unsightly, harmful, or annoying.

Harmony at least allows everyone to live as they want to with likeminded people.
Whereas without harmony no one is happy.

Expressing disagreements is not of value when running a government, because if I vote for A and you vote for B, we should both get what we want, and that can't happen if we both have to follow the same rules.

Therefor harmony creates more tolerance than mixing does.

Couples have to agree on a lot of stuff. Not 100% but it has to be up there. If not much in common it won't work out.

Yes but if most of the people in your area don't agree with you on most things, it makes finding said spouse very hard or impossible.

Guess that's possible. I'm sure you go around your city or town and see lots of couples.
