Autistic people have you been told it’s better of that you have friends that are also autistic or date someone autistic because general people may take us for granted or won’t understand us? I’ve never dated a man that didn’t have a disability but I want to explore options. I don’t want to be stuck in by only autistic men. I’m open minded about this so whatever. If someone told me it’s best if I stick with autistic men, then I’m going to disobey. I’m sick of people telling me what to do and telling me what I can and can’t do. I’m in my late 30s and I had to fight harder to prove to people that I can manage or mane my own choices in my own. Just because we have disabilities doesn’t mean we can’t make choice for ourselves. Back the hell off!

Doing the opposite of what you are told just to rebel is childish/immature. I can see why people baby you
What’s that supposed to mean?
Life is harder for us. Adulting is already hard for everyone; to make matters worse, we're not in a world that makes sense to us.
Bullshit!!! That doesn’t mean we can’t live independently. I wish people would stop telling us what to do. We don’t need people to guild autistic adults. That’s just a BS excuse to let people decide for us.
It's pretty hard. Most people don't realize how much help they're actually getting at home.
I had a lot of help and now I’m very independent so I don’t need help unless I ask for it.
You're still getting more help than you realize. I can list over 20 questions that you need to be able to answer before moving out that are dealt with by your parents while living under their roof. Not to mention that unless you have a well-paying secure job, no place you want to live will let you live there.
Like I said, just because I’m autistic doesn’t mean I need help! My siblings who are neurotypical ask for help but they’re independent and live on their own. My parents don’t trust me to move on my own because I don’t see everyday problems or red flags as well as my sibling.
None of us on the spectrum do.
Do what?
Notice people being covertly nefarious
Well I do! You can’t assume every autistic person is.
Stop using autism as a scapegoat.
I’m not. I’m just speaking facts.
