Honestly how many parents are truly the best dad/mom ever?

I've seen too many people referring to their parents as the best mom or dad they ever had, the best ever... but it's generally out of respect, honestly how many parents truly fit that category?

Someone that cheated on your mom/dad is already a bad example? If your dad hit your mom (or vice-versa) during arguments and has anger issues, they're far from being the best dad/mom ever. A parent that beat you with a belt in anger isn't the best ever. A former alcoholic or drug users isn't the best either.

To truly be the best parent ever you have be exceptionally great and provide good examples. Be honest, how many parents really fit that category?

I think you used some extreme examples, but it’s good that you’re thinking that way because choosing a good partner often means choosing a good parent. I love my parents, and even then I know they weren’t the most perfect, but to me they are and they are humans with tiny flaws. Everyone has flaws, and once you’re aware of yours (some of which are inherited) you can work on them and grow.

I know plenty of amazing parents, including mine. Why do people like you take examples of the bad behavior of some parents and extrapolate it to all. Just stop.
