What did it feel like to have your children witness your career legacy?

It has to be one of the most rewarding and emotional milestones a parent can experience. We spend our lives working hard, grinding, and sacrificing to provide a great life for our kids—and most of the time, they only see the daily exhaustion or hear about the work second-hand.

But seeing it all come full circle when your children are old enough to stand by your side at an official ceremony, watching you get honored for your career accomplishments, must feel completely indescribable. It is especially crazy when you started building your career before your kids were even born, and they grow up only hearing stories about your early grind. Having them right there with you to see the real-world legacy and impact you built through years of dedication is a whole different level of special. It reminds me of seeing legends get inducted into a Hall of Fame with their kids standing proudly right next to them to honor a legacy that started way before their time.

For the parents in the community here who have been lucky enough to experience this whether it was an industry award, a retirement dinner, a promotion, or a lifetime achievement milestone, what did that moment feel like for you? How did it affect your relationship with your kids to have them there witnessing your success?

Deeply emotional and proud: Seeing everything come full circle with your kids watching your hard work get honored would be unmatched.
Anxious or humbled: I'd love having them there, but being the center of attention in front of my own family would make me a bit nervous.
Motivated to work harder: It would be the ultimate reminder to keep grinding so I can leave a real legacy for them to look up to.
I don't really care for ceremonies: I prefer keeping my professional achievements separate from my family life.
