This is to you.

Remember when you were younger? The rest of your friends and classmates were running around, speeding past you, but you were struggling to breathe and struggling to keep up with them? I do.

Or maybe you did not struggle like they did, but you still were not as small as them. You were not that perfect size--even at your young age. I did not struggle with that, as I was normally a little bigger than kids my age, but that is valid too.

Remember when you went to the store to try something on and realized that it was not going to fit you the way you hoped? The way you wanted it to? The way you craved it to? I do.

Remember when those kids started to make fun of you because you were still not as small as they were? They thought that it was cool to be mean and to tell you that you were not good enough. I remember that too.

Dear "fat" guy: please know that this has nothing to do with you. Those boys and those girls who are being mean to you do not deserve your tears.

Dear "fat" guy: if your parents are the ones making you feel this way, please do not listen to them. Do not let them ruin your confidence in yourself before it has a chance to grow.

Dear "fat" guy, I am one of you. I experienced all those horrible things too. The hatred and bullying that I dealt with as a child. The teasing that was incessant and never really went away until I got to high school (and not until after my freshman year). Even then though, I am not sure it ever ended.

Dear "fat" guy: these people who tease you and make fun of you are not worth your time. These people who think that you are not good enough are the ones who are not good enough for you. My brother, you are good enough.

Whether you are a size 3 or a size 3x. Whether you have big manboobs and a decent backside or barely anything at all: you are good enough.

I know we grow up in a society that teaches us that smaller is more beautiful. And I know that we as a society are working on that, but those people who are going to knock you down will always exist. No matter what you do someone is going to think there is something wrong with you. Spoiler alert: unless you are just a horrible person there is nothing wrong with you.

Dear "fat" guy: you are absolutely stunning. You have a wonderful personality and a beautiful soul, and your future is bright. You are the one who decides if you need a change. If you want a change, you do it for you. Do not do it for that girl or boy you want to like you. Do not do it to please your parents.

To expand on my 2nd point in the list.

One of the reasons, outside physical attractiveness, for me to prefer a smaller partner than a larger partner is motivation. We can shift words all we like and be politically correct but when you set two heavy weight people next to eachother, that tends to work against self-improvement. A lot of the time, you want to improve and being with someone who is in that position you want to reach can be a major motivator. But when you are with someone who struggles with the same problems, you may end up with much lower progress than usual.

No, that's not saying that certain people are more lazy or not.

But when you're dealing with your diet, different types of food and the attitude around it, it's often better to have people who don't share that problem, around you. It takes a conscious effort to remain healthy, even for the "skinny" folk out there. Honestly, that is how I see it in a small, practical part of the whole thing.

As a fat guy, this is utter bullshit. You're not taking care of your body (myself included) in many cases, and then expect to be considered attractive. You'll die faster because of unhealthy behaviour and you'll always struggle unless you do something about it. We don't need to be twigs, but the men in the pictures above are morbidly unhealthy in most cases. If you can not handle the situation you're in, you change it. You go through the gruelling trials to change it. But don't expect that people will like you and accept you because you're fat and consider it beautiful.

I am not instigating hatred towards fat people, but I am also not supporting this fat acceptance movement where people of high weight attempt to justify their unhealthy lifestyles by expecting to be called beautiful by others. That is naive as hell. If anything, the message should be to focus on your health.

It's a thing that bothered me for ages, and partially I do feel hypocritical because I am fat myself. But it's the fat acceptance idea that I am so vehemently against. The moment we allow ourselves to be content by being grossly overweight and force society to do the same, that is fucked up.

You being beautiful has nothing to do with being fat, unlike the article is implying. If you're a genuinely awesome person then you'll be that regardless of your weight or your appearance.
