I'm fine with plastic surgery but I feel like it should only be done a couple of times. If people don't have a limit on them, they might try to take things super far and get so many "changes" done to their body.
I have nothing against certain corrective surgeries, like fixing noses or ears but I think surgeons should send someone to therapy if they do more than 3 useless surgeries.
I agree when people are constantly requesting more and more, they are the ones that do in fact need some sort of counseling, but some person getting one nose job or one tummy tuck in their lives is hardly cause for us to call the psych ward.
This is true that let's say that 50 year old woman might want a tummy tuck, chin lift, and boob lift because she is trying to fight off the signs of aging--she might get them all at once, but someone say in their 20's, who comes in 6x a year and requests more and more--they probably do have some issues that need help.
Are you seriously comparing this to Hitler. What does someone getting in a car accident and having their jaw and nose reconstructed have to do with Hitler, or someone getting a boob job have to do with murdering innocent people?
So if you were born with a parasitic twin attached to your body, that's cool because you were born with it regardless of the level of attractiveness? How about a cleft lip? A wonky eye? I can only surmise that you are fine with everything because you were probably not born with any of this or had to deal with it yourself.
But is that you? You can say "other people" and this and that, but when it comes down to it, plastic surgery is about you or the person doing it... how you feel about yourself is about you. We're talking about people who are not content with what they have and are unhappy, and want to change. If you've never been in a situation where you were teased for years about a growth, or an extra limb, or small boobs, or big ears, or whatever, you can't say how that feels to deal with that every single day. I'll tell you right now, I would not love a cleft lip or a parasitic twin and would get plastic surgery or to recover from an accident or cancer. If you can deal with all of that and be fine, then there is nothing wrong with that, but if you are the type were you can't, I see nothing wrong with plastic surgery if it helps you live a fulfilling life.
Plastic surgery could do more damage than good sometimes. People who felt they were ugly, end up making themselves look worst because of it. People are more than welcome to do what they please, but i just feel people should never feel like they're ugly or worthless because of the way they look. Everybody has something to offer to world. And i don't have t9 be in someone's shoes to understand what they're going through or went through due to having deformity or facial flaws. I know there are rude and disrespectful people in this world who lack empathy ans support for those people. But there will always be people as well who are respectful who can help tbose people feel better about themselves.
Anything can damage you. Driving in a car can damage you. Eating too much of one food, and on and on. There are risks with everything we do, and in the case of plastic surgery that person is making a choice for better or worse, but that's the decision they make for themselves. I do agree with you that there are people who will support said persons on how they look, but there are just as many who won't. It comes down to that person and what they go through---and no, you can't fully understand it unless you're going through it what it's like to be in that hell of people constantly berating you for how you look. That's why it's often so easy to say, well, just keep your chin up and keep going--beauty is on the inside. It's why I don't judge people for getting or wanting plastic surgery. I can't know how bad it is for them and what they go through on a daily basis. I don't know what it's like to have people for example, stare at me everywhere I go, or make comments/point everywhere I go...
That is a lot for anyone to have to deal with, and just never feeling like you're okay. I knew a burn victim at my job and what she described was just a crushing weight on her, so bad that she did try and commit suicide. I never want anyone to feel like that and unfortunately there are people who don't care about your feelings or the person you are, they see you and they judge and bully. I know, I'm probably not going to change your mind, and I hope you're never met with a situation where you are in a car accident or something happens to you, but I for one, am a never say never type of person, because you never know in this life what may come your way.
People are already "fake." They have fake hair and nails, false hair and eye color, they get their teeth bleached and straightened, they wear push up bras, and girdles that suck them in, and fake butt pads, guys stuff their underwear and wear shoe lifts and get toupee's and wax and shave, and then people go online or in their phones and edit every picture to remove any wrinkles, pimples, birthmarks, slim themselves, or add abs and other muscles... but that's okay... as long as it isn't permanent? It's the pot calling kettle black, especially if you have done any of this yourself or have seen no problem with say your friends/family, relationships doing the same. There are so few people that are 100% real anything, if not IRL or online.
Yes, it is personal choice, but I always find the reasoning, "oh it's so fake" to be a bit hypocritical because there are so few people in this modern world, who aren't already faking something or correcting something. I used the example of me getting braces as a big one. Never been called fake for wanting to permanently fix my teeth so I didn't have gaps, and misaligned teeth. That gave me low self esteem, so I fixed it, and have been happy. I consider that no different than someone saying I want to color my hair, or get a nose job, if it makes them happy and confident. The only difference is braces are more accepted because everyone does it and thinks nothing of it, but few can afford to or at least publicly tell others of their plastic surgery b/c there is still stigma. Of course in countries like Brazil/Korea, it is more normal like braces.
Well its permanent, its not like its on off several times a day, like heavy makeup. Im ok with this. Why stay unhappy when you can change and be happy?
Be honest now... if you were to get in a car accident, and your face was mangled, but you could still live like that, you'd just shrug and be like, cool, this is my life now, or you'd put in a request for the surgeon to try and put your face back together as best he or she could with plastic surgery.
But thats not changing something that just didn't look right, thats putting your face back together after an accident tore it apart.
Its like the guy who lost an eye getting a skin graft to cover up the hole. Nothing wrong with that.
But there is something wrong with people who out source their self esteem SO much that just because their cheeks are slightly more full than the models in the magazines that they get plastic surgery to reduce them.
@BaileyisDarcy It's still plastic surgery. If you can live without it being done and be functional without it, then you don't need it to survive, and thus it is cosmetic. This is why there are those women who reconstruct a breast after cancer and some who don't. You don't need it, but if it makes you "feel normal" then people do it. If having a ear pinned, or a nose a bit smaller makes you feel normal, then by all means, you decide what makes you comfortable and normal.
and use the money I got in compensation to turn women on, if I were gay, obviously I'd want to be good looking, but, for straight guys looks don't matter, women only care about how much money you have.

I'm probably less incline to support plastic surgery, unless there is disfigurement or the patient was in an accident.
Other than that,, no,, seen too many celebrities with stretched face lifts and cosmetic surgery go bad.

Exactly... Also beyond certain age a person might do more surgeries but has no issues otherwise.
This is true that let's say that 50 year old woman might want a tummy tuck, chin lift, and boob lift because she is trying to fight off the signs of aging--she might get them all at once, but someone say in their 20's, who comes in 6x a year and requests more and more--they probably do have some issues that need help.
It's all just making excuses to let our insecurities run our lives and not face them to me.
pro plastic surgery for all lgbt only, they'll make disorder mental.
It is indeed a person's free choice to get plastic surgery - the same as it is then my choice to no more consider them a potential partner.
i dont see how its different in its core, than hitlers dream.
Are you seriously comparing this to Hitler. What does someone getting in a car accident and having their jaw and nose reconstructed have to do with Hitler, or someone getting a boob job have to do with murdering innocent people?
Everybody should always be content with what they were born with, regardless of the level of attractiveness.

What about the people who do have these things that you just described to me but are totally fine and at peace with what they have?
But is that you? You can say "other people" and this and that, but when it comes down to it, plastic surgery is about you or the person doing it... how you feel about yourself is about you. didn't read but plastic surgery isn't magical lol
it does not to miracles
it cannot fix an ugly and deformed face and make it attractive
NOT MUCH CAN FIX UGLY SORRY!
Answer mine tho im a unflawed 100% ben affleck look alike
I'm sorry, plastic surgery disturbs me and it shows how fake people are willing to be.

Some minor *touch up* is ok but some people go overboard with it
If it's to fix a birth defect, sure. Just because you're unhappy with yourself, no. That's sad. I feel bad for people who feel that way.
lifes short. if you wanna make yourself look better after plastic surgery, go the fuck ahead.
I disagree. We should not be so materialistic with our bodies.
Be honest now... if you were to get in a car accident, and your face was mangled, but you could still live like that, you'd just shrug and be like, cool, this is my life now, or you'd put in a request for the surgeon to try and put your face back together as best he or she could with plastic surgery.

I agree that in an accident you try to put things right but the things celebrities do is just insane, i can't agree with that.
Men are turned on by good looking women, women are turned on by rich men,
That was only half a post, my key board vanished, anyway, if I were in an aciden'd sue the other driver
and use the money I got in compensation to turn women on, if I were gay, obviously I'd want to be good looking, but, for straight guys looks don't matter, women only care about how much money you have.
I am just pro hair transplant, because balding sucks for many guys (not everyone is Bruce Willis or Jason Statham) and I go for it. :D
i am oppose to having excessive plastic surgery that they have nothing real left on their body
After seeing the wrecks of Kardarshians you people still don't learn that it is not good... Sigh.
I see. I share a different opinion.
Artificial beauty.. Interesting
