Companies Taking Advantage of Celebs' Deaths (Including Malcolm Young)

First off, before I say what I wanna say, I want to let you all know you are entitled to your own opinion. This is just my way of thinking with this topic. And this topic will circulate mainly around guitarist Malcolm Young, and a little with Kurt Cobain.

On November 18, 2017, rock icon Malcolm Young passed due to his battle with dementia. he was 64 years old. He was the rhythm guitarist, backup singer, and co-creator of the band AC/DC. Many people have been mourning the loss of this great musician due to how powerful and inspiring he was for many. Including me.

But there is one thing I've come to realize when it comes to his death and the death of many other musicians and other famous people. Companies tend to take advantage of death as a cash-grab, meaning that as soon as a person dies, such as Malcolm Young, they instantly make shirts and other merch in tribute to him. Now I'm not saying its bad to get merch to honor a famous person you love, to be honest I want to find a Malcolm Young shirt someday. But what I'm saying here is, as soon as he died , less than a day later, online there were shirts everywhere made that had to do with his death!

Could they have at least waited till Malcolm was buried? To me, it just seems kinda screwed up. Sometimes companies go way too far. Such as how HotTopic sells shirts with the picture of Kurt Cobain's suicide note (Cobain was the singer and guitarist of Nirvana).

Goes to show that these companies just care more about the money, and when they hear news about a famous person dying they are like "hey! (insert name here) just died! we can get more money!! get to work making those shirts!" Again im not saying its bad to make tribute merchandise, but If I made my own merch to sell, i'd give it for free if I could! And if not, if I had to get money, i'd at least wait a few weeks after the death. Malcolm Young had family, people who loved him, ones who are in mourning. Companies should have a little more respect. Would Kurt Cobain's family enjoy seeing the suicide note shirt?
