There are colors we wear and it seems like everyone is complimenting us on how great we look that day, and there are colors that don't seem quite right. If you want to take advantage of the colors that really work well with your skin tone, the first step is to determine whether you have warm, cool, or neutral skin tones. This will not only help you with your clothing choices, but your make-up ones as well.

When picking out colors for yourself, if you're having trouble really identifying what works for you, you can use the chart below to give you an idea or simply experiment with your color choices. Hold up several color shirts or other colorful garments up next to your face in good lighting. Which ones immediately make it seem like they highlight and work well with your hair, or eyes, or skin or all three? These are going to be the ones that help you stand out.

If you have a neutral skin tone, dabble in both sets of colors and find what you feel works best for you.

Try this out (for anyone):
If you want to see if an outfit is the right color (or colors) for you, then put it on your head like a headscarf/hijab and see how your complexion looks against the piece of cloth. If it flatters your skin, doesn't make you look dull then it is the right color.

One of my friends is a winter person so can only wear "winter" colours, another is a summer person. They both have a swatch of bits of cloth of various colours telling them the exact and precise colours and shades they can wear. Personally I prefer to wear what colours I like with no restrictions according to this or that.

It's so interesting, I avoid the colors charts would suggest for me (orange and yellow) but I love a good purple. (maybe it's the individual color's undertone that I like/dislike too. Oranges are usually so bold and warm, they clash) earth tones are <3 too

Unless somebody tells me what I'm wearing doesn't match my natural look, I usually pull off an ensemble with any color so far. However, I prefer shades of black or shades of white most of the time and accentuate them with accessories of other colors.

Cool skin tone- i go well with dark colours because I’m very pale skinned

I'm neutral so I fit both. The only colours that look bad on me are flesh coloured tones.

Rich, earthy shades of red
Rust and burnt oranges
Mustard and citrus yellow
