I agree. Advertising: "The activity of attracting public attention to a product or business, as by paid announcements in the print, broadcast, or electronic media." By definition, wearing makeup isn't "advertising" so it can't be false advertising if it isn't even advertising. But I digress - - - - If making yourself more attractive by washing and adding a little chemistry to your body is deceptive and to be avoided, then we'd all run around as unwashed, stinky, non-antiperspirant-wearing, shaggy, smelly-haired oafs. And if someone is wearing an extreme amount of make-up, perfume, etc., I would think that most people with half an ounce of common sense would see that rather quickly.

Too much makeup for SURE isn't false advertising, you know she don't look like anything she looks like.
It was kinda shocking, though, when the girl I had been dating for a few weeks spent the weekend with me and i found out that her foundation perfectly hid her problem with acme.
Still, she's still cute and smart and hilarious, so I got over it in like.3 seconds
Psychoanalysts studying the historical and cultural use of make up have determined that most makeup is used subconsciously to mimic traits a female fertility and physical sexual characteristics to attract the attention of males. For example, blush mimics the reddening of the face that occurs after a female as an orgasm. Red lipstick is designed to mimic and subconsciously remind males of a sexually aroused labia.
This! I love this! I am so glad that this mytake was made, thank you so much for making it! I agree with all of your points and I really hope more people read this.

I'm glad you liked it, seems a lot of people didn't xD thank you for reading it!
Ignore the guys - they don't know anything about makeup anyway. They just know pretty when they see it. And love can't start 'till attraction does, so you need to do your best to be as attractive as possible.
Just don't over do it on the caking it one and goofy colors. Make up done right they don't even know what they're looking at - they just like it.
It's been a while since I've seen so much coping and rationalising in one place. You can lie to yourself, but you can't lie to me. Somehow you want us to believe that putting face paint on doesn't trick men into believing you are more attracrive than you really are.

It's not lying, it's called having a different opinion than you. I don't wear makeup to trick guys, neither do most of the girls I know, I wear makeup when nobody will even see me because we wear it for ourselves sometimes y'know.
It seems to me, that wearing makeup is no different from wearing nicer clothes than usual, and making your hair prettier than usual. You are just looking better, to be more attractive. The better clothes are false advertising, and neither is the make up. It's just wanting to look your best, to more more appreciated.
Makeup can hide anything anything!!! I don't like it. I prefer for me to be seen how I naturally am. I won't have to worry about hiding. For any other girl who likes it that's fine. I personally don't like it.

Not necessarily. My flaws are still visible even while wearing a full face. And that's great, nothing wrong with being natural and I'm not trying to bash anyone who prefers that. I just don't think wearing makeup is deceptive or hiding anything and felt like sharing my opinion.
I disagree. Putting on makeup is quite literally the creation of a facade, a false face design to conceal what is behind it. While it perhaps does not technically fall under the definition of "false advertising" it is clearly deceptive.

I disagree with that, but thanks for sharing your opinion here.
You are making a semantic argument against a philosophical outlook. You can argue the terms used are wrong all you like that won't make me like a face that is fake. I disapprove of Photoshop magazine covers too (because I'm logically consistent and not a hypocrite). I don't walk around in an expensive suit to imply to women that I earn more than I do because that would be deceptive too.
Your point seems to be it's not deceptive because it's a woman's choice and she can do what she wants... Just because it's a woman's choice doesn't mean it isn't deceiving the male subconscious. Everyone knows magic images aren't moving yet every time you look at one your eyes are deceived and see movement.
Attraction gets the attention Personality gets the heart
If u are only cute girl and u dont bring anything to the relationship but ur cuteness and ur pu$$y then well in my eyes u are a girl for 1 night nothing more
Other side is if u bring a good conversation we got same connection , values , world view etc yes u are a girlfriend/wife material in my eyes
When I start looking for a gal again (after my 'take a break' phase is over) - I will probably fall in love with a woman who uses very little / no makeup at all. I have always been attracted to the average or 'plain' looking gals (as opposed to the drop dead gorgeous models that you see every now and again). That's just me I suppose. This probably comes from the fact that I am a somewhat average looking guy, not ugly but certainly no John Cena or David Boreanaz.
I see what you're seeing, but thing of the matter is that if you wear a large amount of make up in a certain way, you will likely not look like the same person without it. Contouring, highlighting, creating the illusion of longer lashes and bigger eyes, smaller nose, plumper lips...
That creates an image that doesn't necessarily match someone's actual appearance, and I can to some degree understand why someone might call that fake or false "advertising".
It drives me insane when people tell me I shouldn't wear it for that reason. Makeup is a way of enhancing what you already have or just to build your confidence by expressing yourself in an artful way.
Even if it is who gives a fuck? I know for a fact makeup makes a person look better and if they wanna use it to look good oh well , that is their fucking choice.
Makeup is deceptive. Can make yourself look completely different if you know what you're doing. Eyebrows can be shaped and filled. Your face can be contoured to make your nose thinner, jawline sharper, cheekbones higher, etc...
While not a make up level per se - I like light/no make up look if that includes make up, cool but I have found the deceitful/false advertising a bit surreal
I think most guys have problem when makeup is used way to much, or change way how girl looks, way to much. That beeing said there is no way i would like to have some girls face left on my black shirt or blazer. In my option you should not use makeup a lot, i prefere more natural looks. As said previus, if your face will stick to other people clothing, your doing it realy wrong. Exeption haloween ;)
I only put full face makeup during special occasions but I don’t wear often because it’s very troublesome to remove it. #LoveHateRelationshipWithMakeup

Makeup is to make yourselves look more attractive than you really are.
Makeup is also an artistic outlet.

Make up can create a totally diferent person
Attraction gets the attention
Personality gets the heart

Its just fun y'all!
the whole thing of deceptive or false advertising posts are written by bitter or angry men who can't get a date in the first place.
