Back pockets are for dudes and girls who don't have great asses

So this thought occurred to me the other day and I thought I'd write about it here to get the opinions of the good people of GAG. Basically it's a fashion observation. Most jeans (and in fact pants of all kinds) have back pockets. And while as a guy I use them all the time for my wallet and phone, I saw something the other day that made me realize why so many women's fashions lack pockets: Back pockets are for dudes and for girls who don't have great asses. For those girls who ARE posterior-ly gifted, why WOULD they want to obscure one of their best. . . ahem . . . ASSets?

I realized this at work, where I saw this girl who has an ass like poetry wearing skin tight black jeans. But in her back pocket she had an iPhone which REALLY ruined the look. That's when it hit me how rare it is to see a girl with an ass like that, wearing jeans like that AND with something in the pocket. But for dudes and unattractive girls. . . all day long we'll wear jeans and carry all our stuff in the pockets.

Anyone else observe this? Or is it just me? when is the last time you saw a girl whose backside looked like this carrying anything in her pockets?

Bro, you realize back pockets are usually the ONLY pockets in womens jeans? We don't have front pockets on anything, they're all fockets (fake pockets). And if they aren't fockets then they are big enough for lip gloss and a folded up bill, but definitely not big enough to actually fit a cell phone

So I think this is the reason why! Because the girls with great asses (which would be most likely in the jean size of the girl at work I was talking about) would tend to put everything in a purse anyway, because actually using the pockets would destroy the aesthetics of the outfit on her body.

Perfect, would look better in wet look leggings or at least leggings. That way there won't be any pockets at all with all those seams breaking up the outline or fabric that doesn't stretch holding things back. Jeans are never going to do what those leggings can.

Women with great asses do wear pants with back pockets. But I have to say, I 100% agree with you in regards to taste! Haha. I hate it when a woman has a great ass and obscures it with back pockets. Leggings forever!

It's fine if they have the pockets. They just have to make sure not to USE them. Most jeans have pockets in them but the thing I realized from this girl at my work is that it's REALLY rare to see a girl with an ass as amazing as hers is actually putting something in them.

I haven't noticed any difference in who puts things in their pockets though...

Oh agreed--there's nothing like leggings or yoga pants to show off a truly great ass. But if you think of jeans, while it totally makes sense for you and me to use the back pockets for our phone and wallet, you rarely see a girl with a great ass doing the same. Part of the explanation of why purses are needed even if the girl has pockets!

I haven't made that observation, so I don't know. But I'm pretty sure purses exist because back pockets are too small for phone, make up, keys, tampons, etc. Haha

Well that's what prompted me to write this take in the first place. I noticed this girl had her iphone in her back pocket and it stuck out like a sore thumb. Really diminished the view. That got me to thinking how rare that was to notice.

I generally rarely see that, regardless of how good the ass is. Women rarely put things in ther back pockets. But quite honestly, I also rarely see men put things there. It makes sense, because it's really rather uncomfortable. I never put anything in there.

No homo, but I have a girl butt, its especially apparent in jeans. But if I throw my wallet in its doesn't obscure much. My fiancee always uses hers for her cell phone because the front ones are too small. Unless she is carrying a purse

The back pocket puts attention to the ass. You don't just notice but it's right there, I got a friend who stack a lot of papers and cash in his wallet just to put it in the back pocket. girls doesn't need any pocket on jeans.

I have a bigger butt and smaller waist and i always have my phone in my back pocket cos its the only pocket i hav that would fit my phone. Sometimes money, cards go in there too. So back pockets aren't just for guys!

Well I don't particularly like it as it obscures the fantastic view. But that wasn't the point of my take. My point was I just realized how RARE it is to see a girl with a great ass actually USING her back pockets. I don't think that's a coincidence.

So that's actually my point. The ones with REALLY great asses rarely do that. I think they tend to use their purse or another pocket like a jacket or something instead to not mess with the look.

Oh got it--thanks, I should have been clearer. I realized when looking at this girl how rare it is to see a girl with an ass like hers putting anything in her back pockets. It struck me that that's not a coincidence. It's because the only people who really use those pockets are either dudes or girls who don't have butts like this girl does. That's the reason it really stood out to me.
