to bikers: manic fun or not?

I know this is unrelated to stuff but i've seen a few fellow bikers on here, I'm curious how many know of 2 strokes and if so love/ hate them.

I am a new biker as such. I've wanted one all my life but only recently have I been deemed a big boy by her majesty's government and been allowed to get a motorbike. Only being allowed 125s there were three choices in reality. 'supersport' 4 stroke 125s. Heartless commuter 125s or 2 strokes....

now... I chose a 2 stroke more specifically a cagiva raptor 125. And she's fantastic. Yes she's Italian and so much more difficult to live with than she should be but that little 2 stroke gives her heart. For me when I'm allowed to get a 'bigger big boy bike's I would love to get an aprillia RS 250 for those who love 2 strokes as well I'm sure you'll say the power band is the best thing about them. Nothing encourages you to break every law in the land like a screaming 2 stroke And these machines were manic. The GP 500 in the late 90s got little over 200bhp from 500cc machines and the power band meant fighting it the whole time. I'm a admittedly a bit of a 'purist' when I see your aprillia RSV4s I think no you don't need traction Control. Then common sense comes in and I remember yes it a a good idea (i also think, Damn that sound). To me I want a bike that's snarling and noisey and is fantastic, modern bikes are ridiculous no argument but even the bmw s1000rr, currently the most Powerful (or amongst) bike in the world is known to be incredibly easy to ride. I know I lack experience but I can't be the only one who laughs at the notion of a 4 stroke having a power band and wish for 2 stroke bikes back. I know there's an older population than myself that loved bikes like the tzr 350lc. So I'm curious what other people think. 2 strokes and manic, exciting power bands or is a 4 stroke that just pulls preferred.
