I think it's all about art... just like art, there can be bad art. I love tattoos and have a few myself. I spent a lot of time designing them and picking the artists. I get a lot of compliments on them, I have only received negative commentary from older generations, even then half of them admit they're beautiful and well done, but I should just stay covered like a lady lol. People can preserve there tattoos like art now. When you pass, they remove the tattoo (yes the skin), and process it like leather, frame them, and send them to your loved ones. I've already signed up my mom and myself, and my family is fighting over who gets what tattoos. It's an amazing art form.
Mm someone told me once it depends on your social status, like because it can be harder to get jobs and things, people wait till they're at the 'top' before they get tatoos, like say someone wanting to be a musician- the job isn't guaranteed, so like they wait until they're top hits and things before getting tattoos because they know if they don't become successful it is considered tacky in workplaces so they ar keeping backup options (this is just what someone was saying tho haha they probably made mroe sense idk)
I think it depends on the person. After all, it is their body. I know about a few people who get tattoos “for a cause,” like cancer awareness or something, even though they don’t have cancer. For them, it’s just a cute little symbol that they get but they attached meaning to it. Others have so many tattoos already that they don’t mine one silly one somewhere on their body. I think it’s really a cultural thing. There’s a “tattoo culture” so to speak.
they're definitely art! no matter how excessive they are, they're all beautiful and tattoo artists work super hard on them. the only flaw i see in them being considered art is when the design is a personal request from the customer and not a creation of the artist, but even so i think it is art in those cases because of the work and precision that the artists need to take for any tattoos.
Depends on how it's done and if it looks professional. I plan on getting one as soon as I have the money.
I use to work with someone who had tattoos literally all over, including his head and face. He has a degree in mechanical engineering but can't get a job because of the tattoos. When we were talking one time, he said he doesn't care about that. As long as he's doing a job that he enjoys and is enough to support his family

90% of the time, they are tacky. See, when people get symbolic tattoos, it's usually reflective of sentiment they have at that particular moment, not a life-long philosophy. If the tattoo is genuinely meaningful, they usually get something to honor their dead dad, which memorializes their grief in some way that isn't going to mean anything to any one else. I would never want a permanent reminder of something bad on my body, especially not a symbol that only I would appreciate. Another popular thing is to get some stupid "live life to the fullest" type quote which again... will only mean something to the person who got the tattoo, and only until they realize that quote tats are trashy.
The only non-trashy tattoos are symbol tattoos that hold great significance to the wearer across their whole life time. This is why military tats are badges of pride and honor.
I think they are an art. I know a lady who gets tattoos of her kid's names. She sadly had a miscarriage years ago, so she got a tattoo of the name of who was going to be her baby.
If I ever get a tattoo, it would probably be something that meant the world to me. So, in short, I do not think they are tacky. It's just art on your skin that can mean a variety of things. Shaming people for having them is really stupid, and honestly if anyone shames someone for having a tattoo, I think they should be slapped in the face, once for every tattoo on the person they shamed.
It's all art, even if others personally don't see the value in it, some may be "drunk tattoos" or ones with errors in them, like it or not, that portrays a moment in your life, not all art is beautiful, sometimes the most powerful pieces are the ugliest. The only tattoo I have is a small black and grey mountain with symbols that mean "Should the oceans rise and mountains fall, God's love will never fail."

Depends on the tattoo. The ‘I’m awesome one’ (which is spelt wrong, too. 😂), is pretty tacky. But, the heartbeat with the horse isn't. I wanna get that tattoo, because it serves two meanings.

I always got them in places where i could hide them, but then i caught a charge when i was 17 where they tried me as an adult so i was like fuck it im not getting a job anyways so i got my neck tatted.

Although I wouldn't ever get one unless seriously drunk or something where I don't have much control, some tattoos I think look nice. They can make me more attracted to a girl. Some don't though so that's why I would be scared to get one especially as it's permanent.
Tacky. Very, very tacky. Well, a lot of them are... The ones that cannot be covered with normal clothes. A little butterfly or a cute dolphin would be charming, but a girl with a sleeve? Well, she's not "keeper" material. She's made for pumping-and-dumping.

Tattoos are art on your own body. Don't let what people say stop you from getting a tattoo. For many people tattoos symbolize something. Hey, we only get one life to live, and in the next life, we dont have an option to get the tattoos we couldn't get before.
A tattoo depends on a person whether it suits or not. I don't like tattoo over whole body. If anyone want to make a tattoo on his/her body, first select a proper design according to your body.

If someone has taken the time to come up with a unique design then id say art. The tattoos I tent to find tacky are the ones people pay 20€ for while drunk or any tattoo that is just writing (particularly the name of a partner or deceased loved one)

I disagree with people who are full of tattoos, that covers their entire body. Yes, this I find tacky and unflattering. But I like the idea of having 1,2,3 discrete tattoos that mean something to you, such as a music key or a date or anything. That's nice and cute.

It depends on the design and meaning. A penis on butt is tacky, but a personal quote or design is art. Like for a shoe for a marathon. I'm still waiting for a good reason.
