I'm thinking of getting a Tattoo on my Shoulder/Arm and thougt of a Tribal Tattoo. My Question is does the majority of people think the Tribal stuff is Attractive or is it nonsense with no deeper meaning behind it? Below is a Photo for refrence, was thinking about something like that.
If you dont find it attractive, please share your decision why it isn't.
Any Tattoo Ideas are welcomed đ I need them to be hidden when wearing a Suit tho, doesn't fit the business enviroment in my opinion.

I think tribal tattoos are really sexy, but I also think tattoos are automatically better and more interesting when they actually mean something to you. I'm Native American, I plan to get a tattoo of my name (kiwedin) in Cree syllabics (our glyph-like form of writing) because it has significance to me, my name has a story behind it, it's representing a side of me that I'm really proud of. Of course, everyone's entitled to do what they want with their bodies and not all tattoos need deeper meaning, but to take another person's culture and use it simply for aesthetics is a major let down. You're taking something really meaningful and making it meaningless. Why not find a style of tribal tattooing that means more to you. Your profile says you're from Germany, maybe look into Germanic tribes and the type of tattoos they had. You'll still get a cool tattoo, you'll just be more connected to it, you'll keep some of that history alive and I think that's a lot cooler.
Given that itâs generally regarded as disrespectful to get cultural tattoos when youâre not a part of that culture, I would say that you shouldnât.

Most Samoan, Polynesian and Maori peoples use tattoos to show their culture and the tattoos themselves have a lot of spiritual meaning. As a Pakeha, yâall cannot be getting one of those tribal tattoos, no matter how good you think it will look once you get ripped.
@xTom98 A lot of stuff isn't cultural appropriation to me but getting a Polynesian tattoo when you're not Polynesian is a major no-no. These tattoos have a special meaning to them. I know of people that have gotten them in New Zealand by a tribesman though. The tribesman picks a design for you. Those patterns actually mean things and the tribes usually pick certain patterns for each person.
Honestly shoulder/arm tattoos only look good when you also have the arms to back it up And also you will have a tattoo for eternity, so be sure what you get on your body
I love tattoos, especially tribal tattoos... but I do feel like its inappropriate for certain people to get them. These tattoos originate in polynesian culture, and the tattoos are meant to represent your genealogy, sexual maturity, and societal ranking. So I can see how it can be offensive for just anyone to have them to certain groups... but to each his own. I think tribal tatts are beautiful.
I'd show you a couple photos of tribal tattoo sketches I did for fun and you would probably have a different outlook on it. Tribal pictures are very abstract and might not appeal to a lot of people. I tend to do tribal pictures using tribal style to form actual things like Dragons, Phoenix, heart, etc. You can make some really badass images in a tribal format.
Exactly lol. I actually plan on getting both arms sleeved, one side with Japanese style and the other with Norse/Viking and maybe add in some Medieval on my back. I want to get Ouroboros tattooed somewhere since it's a very popular reference in many religions. I was also thinking of getting a dragon breathing out fire in the form of a phoenix.

I plan on getting a JĂśrmungandr (The Snake) on my shoulder and have it go arround the arm and a bit of my chest. Might add some other motives to it đ
Sounds cool. Yeah, Tattoos are a way of expressing yourself. So who cares if someone disagrees with your tattoo. As long as it's not offensive or disrespectful you shouldn't have any problems. I enjoy fantasy/mythology. So I want to get a few of the forms that I like as tattoos. Hell I might even do something Greek/Roman as well. But yeah you just gotta be careful with some tattoos and some artists. I got an Assassin's Creed Tattoo on my forearm with blood splatters and a tear in my flesh that says Resquiscat in pace. Which means rest in peace and is used a lot as the burial phrase after assassinating someone. I paid like $180 and it started to fade since some of the ink didn't take completely. So you gotta make sure you get it touched up and rechecked. And also don't get anything in a foreign langauge like Japanese or Chinese unless it's a single character like Strenght or something. Lots of people end up getting something, thinking it means what they want it to but it could be wrong.
I used to like them a lot but i got tired of them at one point on social media its like every one with pecs or biceps would get one, i just got tired to see them everywhere and now i hate them. But i used to like so much it was a phase where i was obsessed with their meaning and all tribe related stuff.
Unless its actually part of one's cultural background, then go right ahead. If not, then I think it looks pretty lame on your average overly intoxicated macho douche-canoe in a local small town tavern tryna prove how tough he is by harassing various patrons throughout the evening.
They are very attractive. Tattoos are meant for meaning and you could incorporate meaning by telling a story within the pattern. People are able to tell stories with quilting, crocheting and knitting blankets. Be a bad ass guy and find a way to incorporate a meaning with the tattoo.
I've never really rated anyone who gets a tribal tattoo. Lots of cultural meanings and implications are involved, if you get a cheap one then a native of NZ would probably laugh at you or batter you. If you really feel like you have to get one then get a professional to do it, because they'll ask you what you want it to mean. But really, tribal tatts are so fuckboi generic.
I dont really like em, I like all other tattoos but I think there should be a meaning behind it. I mostly like flower tattoos etc. But I donât like them bc of all the black lines itâs just a lot of black and is kinda boring
as someone who loves learning about human's history and origin, i love tribal tattoos, i like it because not only does it look good, it also has a lot of our ancestors history and meaning behind them.
@The_FallenOne Im judging whether or not bosses will take them seriously in the future in a professional setting to hire them for a decent job that can support our future family. If you don't try to be professional in the workplace and don't care about your career, I'd hate to be the kid who gets you as a mother.
There are careers that you let you have tattoos hun. Having a tattoo does not mean that you're unprofessional and if you think that you need more schooling. Not only is their special makeup made specifically to cover tattoos, but there are also is magical things called long sleeves. It just depends on where you have it, what is it of, and how many you have.
You'd hate to be the kid that gets me as a mother, but why? Is it because I accept people as they are and I don't judge before they speak? Or is it some kind of sad comback you made because you're salty?

I got a tribal tattoo when I got married. My wife's family has the tradition of giving tattoos to their female members when reaching certain age as part of their coming of age ceremony. And, as I became part of their family, I got one.
Tattoos in general are becoming less creative and are becoming less the mark of a trendster or a follower rather than a rebel. I'm more impressed now by people without tattoos than with.
Yeah I know how you feel. Everyone has tattoos now. So, when a person doesn't then I am more impressed. Everywhere I go I see girls and guys with cookie-cutter tattoos. They all get the same shit as everyone else because it is "in".
why don't you get something meaningful to you instead? you could incorporate that kind of design into something else and that way you won't be appropriating another's culture.
I dont think of Tattoos beeing something meaningful and Im way too uncreative to think of something myself. Id rather just pick a Design out of a Book đ
Im refering to the Pacific island tribal tattoos. You know some of them even put them on their face search maori people. Its definitely not for good looks.
The people there always seem so angry đ Also since im atheist Im not really accepted there 𤡠at least it was this way when I was on vacation over there.
