What do you look like with no makeup?

Question

I understand how makeup can enhance features, but sometimes I think the world would be better if nobody wore makeup.

What do you think? I would expect people to become less self-image obsessed and focus more on doing things.

It isn't as if no makeup is ugly. I mean,

Imagine if all girls walked around like this. Wouldn't that ultimately be a better, more grounded, world?

They're all so pretty 😍. I just feel like the makeup industry has led to widespread narcissism and insecurity, especially on websites like Twitter and Instagram.

I am 24h 7/7 without makeup, even without concealer for eyebags, creams etc. I think I look good, but I'm also very helped by my eyebrows: I am mediterranean and my eyebrows are dense and black, so I can shape them with the tweezers and I get a "decently" intense gaze already.
This is my maximum: if I hang out with someone and I feel good, then I put concealer for the eyebags and random pimples if any (but not totally covering, because I don't use the foundation), and I take a brown eyeshadow and I put a very light shadow in the external part of the eye, shading towards the center, especially under. But it's so light no one ever notices I've makeup, while the gaze gains a lot of intensity compared to before. If I have some anemia or low blood pressure, I use also a lip pencil of my color, to lightly refine the upper lip. But no one notices that's makeup.
Also: I really know how to use makeup and I've many tools for that, I watch YouTube videos etc. I'm just not interested in appearing insecure or a product of the society or materialistic etc. I put a lot of relevance in my personality, in general... And at the same time I don't feel to be -that- sexy to enhance myself with such a "decoration". It wouldn't represent me at all.

Context: I am southern Italian (currently in Netherlands). So I'm probably way more used to people with a simpler look than Americans... That's not really a news for me to see a girl with no makeup (or very light makeup).

People who hardly ever wore makeup still look natural but people who always wore makeup then finally stopped wearing it ended up looking like a zombie. I used to have very clear skin but now that its starting to breakout, it makes me want to try makeup. However thats just not my style so i rather treat my skin in other ways rather than make it worse with makeup that just temporarily covers the flaw.. by the way i haven't worn makeup since 2nd grade ballet (2002) and prob won't wear it again until i marry

Makeup is an interesting topic. On one hand, I agree with you. The industry has altered the public's image of it self and how we perceive people should look. Accomplished by ads and targeting via demographics using sex and dating culture, it's hard not to say this is just a ploy for money. I would point out however that makeup isn't just cosmetic and its sole purpose isn't just to make people look "better". We have used makeup across history for centuries not only for aesthetics, but for medical reasons as well. Consider the Egyptians and Greeks for instance. They were revered not only as the fashion statement we see them as now, but as gifts from the gods. Both cultures used makeup (both men AND women) to not only add a status and fashion statement to their person, but also to help stave off the dry desert climate. :)

i dont understand why u want all girls to look less attractive,
sure some look ok without makeup... but u can't argue with the fact that they would all look much prettier with makeup..

and its not like putting makeup is some big huge time consuming thing that takes forever to put on... it only takes u a minute or 2 to apply some lipstick and eyeshaddow... so i dont know what u mean by spending more time on doing stuff... 2 minutes reduced from your day is nothing

I do feel ugly but at least I don't feel twice as ugly as if I'd worn it. Because I have friends who wear make up and although they look ok without it, they'd never go out without wearing it cuz they'd feel ugly and insecure

when i do my makeup seriously like posting pictures of it, i go all out! The bright colors, the winged liner, bold brow, a baked face. I treat my makeup as art. I'm an artist and i don't want to limit myself to using paper as a canvas.

Though i never leave my house in it because the colors are actaully very vibrant 😂

Some people just like the way it makes them feel. Most of the time, when a woman puts on makeup it's because it makes her feel more confident in herself. And because lots of people don't agree with the things you said.
It's ok if you like the natural look, but wearing makeup has nothing to do with the kind of person you are on the inside.
