Before the last part of the 80's, no one reacted in particular if a man wore leather trousers, but from the end of the 80's until now, it has been more common for a number of gay communities and people to use leather clothing as a kind, trademark to show that they belong in a gay environment and this has created an image in people's heads that leather pants on men = gay. Too bad for us who only look at leather pants as it is just a pair of pants.
