If you have tattoos, are they covered or in easily exposed areas?

Easily exposed areas as in arms, shoulders, neck, and so on. Except for a couple of very small ones, all my tattoos are in areas that I usually keep covered.

What about you?

PS - I welcome non tattooed people considerations (where they think tattoos would be best, where they'd avoid them, reasons, etc) but I kindly ask to avoid offensive opinions - ie "Only criminals/bad people have tattoos" and overall off-topic opinions. Thank you for understanding.

You have several tattoos? How interesting. I never would have guessed. I'm not sure why, though. They don't mean what they used to. It's sometimes a fun game to guess who has them and who doesn't. Some display them boldly, others are discreet and seem to enjoy the reveal with only the select chosen.

No, I don't have any. They were never a consideration. They used to be more counterculture and irreverent, a pushback against conformity and leading a more traditional life. Now they're extremely commonplace. So common as to have lost their edge. I'm not sure what they represent anymore, except that people have some personal attachment feeling about the images. I'm surprised how many people like their permanence. People change, feelings change, the people in our lives change. I don't feel the same intensity about anything that I once did, and that's just generally how the mind works. Maybe people see tattoos as memory-stores, like a printed photograph that can never be lost.

I don't like the aesthetic look on the skin, no matter the image. Blue-grey is not generally a colour that compliments skin. It looks reminiscent of veins, or rotting flesh; and it's usually soft focus, and skin wrinkles and sags over time, distorting the images, so for these reasons mostly, I've never been into them. To each his own. But I do think investing in laser removal technology will be very profitable in the future.

I had intended for my tattoos to be easily coverable, and got them on my upper arms. I thought when I wanted to show them I'd wear a tank top, but short sleeve shirt would cover them.

Well imagine my surprise a few days later when I put on a Polo shirt and the bottom half of a Playboy bunny was super visible poking out underneath the hem. I freaked out as I yanked to try to stretch the sleeves a bit, but no matter, the bow to the eye were just *there*

I won't lie, but I did melt down a bit knowing that I'd now be making a bad first impression at the party I was going to looking like this... obvious Playboy logos on my arms, and I couldn't hide them... ever

The generation before mine made sure to get tattoos that weren't visible with clothing on. My sister and two of my cousins didn't. Granted the tattoos they got were honoring my grandmother who was close to all of us. She died in early June.

I've got 2 half sleeves and my legs done so I can wear jeans and a tshirt to cover them if needed.
