You're crazy if you ever talk to your barber like that WHILE he's cutting your hair. Either wait for him to finish then tell him or just don't say anything cause its usually not fixable.
Last time that happened I had to wear hats outside for a month. I never went back to him though
They get to know the truth. And then I probably stop using them. But, then again, my barber knows my hair so although a fun question to answer, it's an unlikely scenario.
Tell them, more from shock then anything most likely, that be pretty "OMG NoOoooooo!!!" case for a momment or two at least

I'm my own barber, so I would have to wait a week or two and try again. In the meantime, I usually have a hat on anyway.

I’ve been shaving my head since before shaving your head was kool! I think i would have found this relief sooner had i ever experienced a terrible haircut.
Well I haven't had a long time barber since my 20's. I either just shave my head. Or I go to Great Clips and get one of thier not so great clips. But I probably wouldn't say anything. I probably just wouldn't go back.

I'd have to yell at myself because I've been cutting my own hair since 2016. Razor and a #6 attachment and I am good to go. I love having such easy hair.
It can all be fixed with a nbr 0 cut. My hair grows fast so I don't care that much.

Everyone has an off day and mistakes happen. What you need to ask yourself is the overall positive experiences vs what would happen if your long time stylist resigned without notice to the clients
Tell them crew cut it after say for free my bad hair cut when you showed them in the hair cut photo album
