Should a woman dress within her means?

I started thinking that casual clothes are more within my means, as I’m unemployed and I rarely go out, so should I ditch smart casual and go for the cheap, casual clothes instead from now on?

I'm not swimming in money but I still dress classy and have good style. If you know what to look for and where, you can do it. Looking good doesn't mean you have money. Lots of rich people these days, especially celebrities, look and dress like trash.

If your smart casual clothes still fit, why stop wearing them, if thats what you prefer? You don't need to get a new wardrobe to represent your current financial status.

Go with what your budget allows. If I was unemployed then I would not be buying or charging any clothes at all. Save your money until you get reestablished in a new job.

You can get good, inexpensive clothes either second hand like Goodwill, sometimes the stuff is brand new, or like shop at Ross or Marshalls. No need to dress down, but yes, live within your means.
