But, no, the skort would be the comfortable alt. to the skirt, built in shorts, basically. Something ill never understand, but, if that's what you want, wear it. It keeps dancers/cheerleaders modest anyway

Yep. It is a male garment and just because a mini skirt has a tartan print on it doesn't make it a kilt.

That's not a kilt. Traditionally only men wear kilts. Just because it's plaid doesn't make it a kilt.
