I shall have to ask my father in law about this, as both he and his wife have attended several clans reunions over the years... They both have distant Scottish heritage.

As a woman I have worn a kilt, but it obviously doesn't feel much difference from wearing a normal skirt... Heavier and thicker material only.

I find the kilt incredibly freeing and comfortable in the right conditions. Obviously not while working in extreme conditions
