Why do women nowadays aim to be extremely thin, when the most beautiful women in the world were not even that thin?

pressure, it is sad that they feel that they have to starve themselves to look goo, when just the opposite is true.
They just look bad, all skin and bones.
For some it is a sickness, anorexia and it is hard to overcome, and very unhealthy.

Most girls (me included) think its just prettier, like your proportions and everything are so much better. extra fat is ugly to most girls. Also clothes look so much better on you too when you're skinny

Now i dont think most girls think the anorexic look is cute, just like maybe a bmi of 17-19. think that's the prettiest weight range

Actually from my general experience being curvier is more popular now than ever. Most women I know prefer the bodies of the women in the photos. Being skinny isn’t primarily even pushed in the media anymore.

I don't know. Women don't need to be thin. Plenty of very attractive full-bodied women out there.

I just had a dark thought. Becuase I think I am FAT, but I am not. I’m 5’8 and 138 pounds which looks like normal on me. But women are getting SO skinny that size Small women like myself are being considered Medium.

You're anything but fat. I think you must be pretty slim. I think a lot of people's self image comes from social media and it's totally unrealistic. Makes for a lot of unhappiness.

It’s fucking sad. I used to be 119 pounds at 5’8”…. I gained 20 pounds. I was really sick when I lost the weight. But I think women need to be careful, not just women but men too.

I totally agree. People get totally horrible, unrealistic self images from a million different places. Causes eating disorders. My sister was anorexic.
