For example if they say you're hot, handsome, pretty, fit etc how often do you actually accept and believe those compliments.
I know personally I don't really believe them unless I have actually tried or have gone out of my way to do something for my appearance. If I've freshly done my hair or put make-up on, have a pretty outfit on. Sometimes it even depends on the place, if I'm at a bar for example - a lot of times I hear a compliment and simply think, okay I'm pretty enough to fuck.
I'm kinda curious how the poll will go on this one
+1 yi don't understand it. i don't get what they are seeinh. but i still love myself. there are times i like the reflection i see in tje mirroe, there are times i don't but i always love myself and wouldn't want to trade my fave to domeone elsw. i think inherently we love ourselves
but if someone would keep tellinh me i am attractive then i would think maybe they are seeing something i just do not see, maybe inseed i am attractive
whwn i was in college i usw baby powder, curl my lashes ( i use to have lashes unlike now even single curl is nearly impossible when before i can double curl it which means i have regular lasges. firstcurl then go down the lash hair for second curl. it's a technique when curling lashes) and lip tint.
i'm sharing this because i feel that now i don't have lashes i look different i have to go eyelash extension but i choose the subtle ones the most natural looking ones. the thing is want to have my natural own lashes not eyelash extensions because eyelash extensions hurt my eyes.
but i also don't like my look without lashed.
i look at my pics and vids i would think if my facw is influencer enough. i would pray to God and Mama Mary to have a face influencer enough. to this i mean when they look at my pics and vids they would find me at least attractive to have an influencing capabilities
but irl or at least when i was in college i gwt quiet a few praises from both gender and i believe some of it because of the manner they say it. for example i just pass by and a female friend/acquaintance would go near me and would say "yoy are really pretty Sheena" and then there's this girlwho keep saying you are really pretty but when i look myself in the mirror i would ask myself where is the peetty here? i don't see it in my facw
but to my relatives i am igly. i am even accused of beinh i secure with my cousin. that i hate them because i am insecure with their beauty. even my own soulmate believe that. he sided with them because he adores beautiful people he didn't believe every single thing that i said even if i am telling the teuth because he find me igly.
i scream, icried many tomes because my soulmate tortured mw because he believe that i hate them because i am insecure
now he forced me to be friwnds he wanna MAKE SURE that i am friends with my relatives. the thing is i am a servant of God. i also have that very merciful type of attitude but my soulmate still tortures me and really make sure that i get to be ok with them.
what he wanys is a trophy wife someone he can manipulate and control and be surrounded with a lot of women.
i am looking for lovw. i take true love over money in a heartbeat. that's why i feel i don't deserve to be yreated this way. i just wanna emphasize that no matter how much money you have, no matter how many opportunities you can give me at the end of the day i am still lookinh for love10 Reply

+1 ythis is relevant to myself, i had a meeting with my manager who spouted a load of codswallop. saying im putting pressure on myself, eager to progress and become a manager (no fkin way ) and that im needy when i was literally begging for help on something i should of had help with and they refused to help me. she's watered it down now but still a load of bs, I've been in her team two weeks and is annoyed i know she along with the managers in my department were trying to build a water tight case to have me fired because in there heads if im gone then others will go away despite being asked to leave me alone.
now she's moving departments and staying within the parent company they think they are safe and can treat people like crap.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI get a lot of "you look like this person." Some say I look like post Malone. It's only because I'm scruffy like he is.
But usually when they point someone out who I apparently look like, that person is hideous. Post Malone is OK. But like real life comparisons I've had were HORRIBLE!
And I cannot say this to the person, but what I am thinking is "there's no way this guy EVER had women throwing themselves at him like I have had."
And I'm sure I'm right. But if I look like these guys who really are not attractive than why the fuck have women and girls thrown themselves at me my whole life?
Even post Malone is not that kind of looker that I doubt he ever had attention like that. Not before he was famous.
I literally get strange females asking me for my number. Like... why am I compared to ugly men but I can't be as bad looking as they look. It just makes no sense.12 Reply
Opinion Owner+1 yYea post isn't ugly for sure but I'd say he's very average. I also was told I look like Mr. Beast but with some muscle.
I take post Malone as a compliment because he is a sweet guy and I relate to him and his personality a lot. So he's fine.
It's just the random people I get told I look like and I'm horrified! Lol...

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI don't have much care for what others think of my physical assessment. Such people are typically shallow, insecure, petty, etc. and really have the least value in relations.
I know how I look.
I don't wear makeup because I don't need to. I have never in my life even worn lipstick. Even cosmetic salespeople refuse to sell to me citing I've beautiful skin.
I don't wear skimpy clothes because I don't need to. Dressing & acting respectfully means I attract men who are successful, not jump from bed to bed sleazeballs.
.
What people who assess others only by physical looks think of me, means nothing. As said due to their flawed personalities they don't really contribute much value anyway.

+1 yI get male attention every single day, all of them saying how cute I am or how sexy I look. One of the benefits of being on a campus full of horny dudes.

Doesn't mean you believe it, I had that when I was at uni. To me it just meant I'm pretty enough to fuck, but not good enough to date. So I always took it with a grain of salt. Funnily enough I'd probably believe someone telling me I'm alright more than I'm amazing. Or you're not bad looking feels more like a compliment to your beautiful to me... hmm maybe I'm just weird lol

Yeah I get what mean but about 80% of the guys who say I look sexy and stuff like that often try to hookup with me at the next frat party they see me at.
588 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. As an adult, people don’t usually say negative things about my appearance to my face 🤔
I always accept compliments and thank them even if they make me shy. Agreeing or disagreeing never really came to mind.
Except when I was in middle school and this bitch had the audacity to say I looked like Beyoncé at the dance and we knew damn well I didn’t. But again.. as an adult? Nah.

+1 yI know my qualities I know what I am and what I'm not. hansome is handsome ugly is ugly. However being handsome I just added humorous, charming, honest and a little crazy to complete my whole personality package. But I'll take an honest compliment always but unlike women I'm a guy so I don't keep up my appearance for women. I do it for myself. And my pretty blue eyes I believe you can buy them on Amazon now.

You're doing better than me, I need it toned down if someone were to say you're not half bad, I would appreciate that more and thank them than, you're stunning. I don't know why but my mind instantly goes, why? What do you want, and I just wait for the other shoe to drop and feel weirded out by it.

i get it really.
I really got that dad bod look going on now that im 40 and I've had a couple girls tell me how hot that is to many women. i still don't really get it but hey i can still enjoy the feeling of being attractive looking to some lol. - +1 y
Haha dad bods can look really good (especially with the whole aging makes me look better thing going on), I don't even care if a guy has the "beer belly", as long as he has meat on his bones, he's good. Maybe it's bad of me to say, but I can't get behind loving skinny guys and those who wear skinny or ultra skinny jeans, just aren't for me 😅
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yMisty they’re right. Then telling me my looks is like a mirror. An honest hurtful mirror we all need.
You should specially listen to the opposite sex. Not same sex. Same sex is 10x more likely to lie to you 🫵
