I have always like the look of leather jackets.
Are leather jackets still in style in 2023?
I have always like the look of leather jackets.
Leather never goes out of style.
new trends with big puffy coats will dominate the next few years with K-pop stars being a big hit world wide with their baggie oversized puffy outfits. So retails are pushing it to make big money using recycled plastic materials.
So they are making it cheaper for the public.
only very few who still value quality and with money will go for leather.
however…most people can’t afford good leather.
if you want..:go for companies that do value their craftsmanship…like Hermes or more affordable Coach brand.
Leather's going the way of the Dodo bird, but it will always be stylish.
Leather is actually better for the planet overall than all of this disgusting, disposable crap clothing that is being made now. Genuine leather almost never goes in the trash. It can be reconditioned.
My advice is if you can find it, buy it.
Exactly. It's hilarious that people think fake leather is better for the environment; yet, it falls apart fast and then goes in the trash. I have a vintage 1960s leather jacket that looks like new due to it being conditioned well. Can't get better for the enviornment than that.
@Wraith_Cemetery Yep, exactly.
I had one leather and one suede jacket each that I got rid of many years ago (donations). If only I knew how rare they would soon become.
IKEA is also on my shit list, for their 'fast furniture'. Landfills everywhere are littered with them.
@AmandaYVR Agreed. Cannot stand IKEA furniture. It's basically made of wood shavings and never lasts.
I think of them as kind of a timeless classic. That said, not all leather jackets are created equal. But if a jacket is made of leather, that’s all fair. I think they really depend on your own look and style. They can be fly as hell or look awkward as fuck, depending on who’s wearing it. I’m of the latter variety, so I don’t own any, haha
Yeah, it's just expensive so people unfiscally educated (which is anyone who stuck to what school taught them about money)
I have 2, bought them in thrift shops for less that £10 each and the more daily one probably has 5 years before the lining gives up and the skinbekladnad will probably outlive me I should fathom
Problem is if fash fashion is churning out something for £30 and a real one is £300, many people will buy the cheap one

People aren't buying them now because they're either shit or super expensive. I still wear mine on occasion. Women still wear them although a lot of them are fake. The jackets I mean.
Here's a phrase for you: Man made leather.
Dude all leather is man made. It's made out of dead animals.
leather jackets are always in style but you have to get a classic style and not some current trend of leather jacket design (e. g., no light brown leather car coats)
it's the right people that make it stylish... regardless of the time or the trends...
people make true style... not the other way around
@AmandaYVR definitely so
Yes, leather jackets are still in style in 2023 because they have been popular for decades and continue to be a staple in fashion.
Leather jackets have always been stylish as long as I can remember and will probably continue to be so for a long time.
I still have my old Navy flight jacket, in perfect condition, but I haven't worn it in years.
Is that a G1?
@AngryCarl2 It is! Wearing it without a nomex flight suit seems odd, so it just hangs in my closet. I don't have the heart to get rid of it.
So it would be oversized?
@AngryCarl2 it's a little big, but I have put on a few pounds since my Navy days as well.
If I had one I'd probably never take it off.
@AngryCarl2 It was a long time ago, and my accident ended my military flying. It was actually a pretty dark time for me.
I hear ya.
Leather jackets have always been in style
They never go out of style!
