On every sitcom and movies in the 90s and random people wore jeans in the 90s all the time? Why was that?
Are people not wearing jeans anymore? Am I missing something? I wear chinos from time to time, but more often than not I wear jeans in cool/cold weather. I feel like I look around and most other people are wearing jeans too. Maybe the “athleisure” thing is a little stronger today than back then, but other than that, I don’t see much difference other than the fit of the jeans, but just wearing SOME kind of jeans seems to be a constant for as long as I’ve been alive.
In the 90s I DID wear COLORED jeans, at least in the early half of the decade, so that’s definitely different. I had forest green, purple, maroon, royal blue, white…and I had a matching denim vest for all of them😂😂😂 I used to rock Cross Colours gear like crazy.
As crazy as it would look today, I still regret nothing, lmao, I loved that era of fashion, it was kind of when I first started picking out my own clothes and paying attention to what I was wearing.
But jeans in general are just timeless, they aren’t going away any time soon.

Became popular as society started focusing more on casual wear. Many companies had "Casual Fridays" throughout the 90s and 80s where employees were allowed o wear jeans.
Everyone, especially women, wear jeans all the time still. It's accepted as appropriate for all occasions. Even at Operas and on dates women wear ripped baggy "mom" jeans with crop tops. Looks ridiculous in my opinion.
"The devil's fabric." Historically, because it was very comfortable while being very durable. Manufacturing denim takes its toll on the environment though, and then denim went from 100% cotton to this flimsy polyester b. s. and lost its appeal, not because it wasn't a fashion staple, but because they just weren't the same thing that had made them popular and practical.

Jeans probably had just become really popular in the 90s, especially as you've shown a lot of popular shows and celebs were sporting them, so naturally the general population would get them as well.. Back when Hollywood actually had more influence on trends..
Who says it was ONLY in the `90's? Jeans have been a staple since at least the `50's.
Jeans are still popular now, I wear jeggings all the time LOL
