This was a while ago.
My crush (let's call him John) and I are friends. Our sisters are best friends, therefore, we have been thrust into multiple slightly awkward situations. Though those awkward situations have become, slightly less awkward throughout time, we still have a thin veil of something between us.
I have had a crush on John for a while, but I was not sure he liked me. I wasn't planning on going to Prom with anyone, I was just going to go with my friends. That was until my best friend told me some information. She had been on a large Skype call with him, and everyone was playing truth or dare. Some asked John if he had to go with anyone to the dance with, who would it be. And I was his second choice. I know the second choice doesn't sound too glamorous, but his first choice already has a boyfriend.
We're both funny people, John and me, we were each raised with a sense of humor. I didn't want to ask John to the dance like everyone else was, with balloons, signs, stuffed animals, and other lovey-dovey stuff. I didn't want it to be a big deal. I wanted to ask him on the down-low.
We were talking one day after school, and it seemed I had been blessed by the gods. A wonderful idea filled my head, one that was impossible for me to think of myself.
"Do you have any good jokes?"
"Yeah, I have a few. You need some?"
"No, I have a perfect one. Knock knock."
"Who's there?"
"Will you go with."
"Will you go with who?"
"Will you go to Prom with me?" John looked at me for a second, before a smile tugged on his lips.
"I'd love to."
So then we went to prom together, and I suggest this method for people who are humorous, maybe shy, and not to dramatic.

That is a great mytake. I am very glad you asked him to go. And im happy he said yes. Girls get shy and scared to ask guys to prom. Nobody wants to get rejected. Im glad you had fun going with him.
