You don't have to be a feminist to want to help those people tho, to say that feminists are the ONLY people that are fighting for better conditions is preposterous. We have mothers, daughters and partners who are women and for feminists to act like we DONT want them to get paid more is f***ing insulting. But the insanity goes beyond that tho, just take nursing and teaching for example, the feminist not only didn't want to fight for them, but actively hated them for working in those jobs!

HA! Feminist women aren't the only women "doing things". Many women who aren't feminist have careers, think for themselves, wear clothes that aren't what a "cartoon character wears". Women do things that are "stereotypically girly" aren't doing it because the world is unfair and they have to; they want to. Alot of feminists hate men, usually because they have been abused in some way by men in the past so they keep letting those men control their actions. There are a few feminists that just want the best for women and want men to be men, but they are very few. "It's not feminists that are trying to force men to provide for them"?!?!? Actually, it is feminists that force men to pay for their contraception, while men have to pay for their own contraception. It is feminists that campaigned and lobbied aggressively to try and convince Americans that female contraception should be covered by healthcare insurance that both men and women are forced to pay for, but male contraception should not be covered. So, on that point, I take issue.

I'm all for gender equality, but the one thing I hate about feminism is how it has led to the death of chivalry.

I really enjoy being a gentlemen to women, but I'll admit that I am really annoyed when I open a door for a woman and she decides to turn the entire thing into a gender rights struggle.

Do you want to date a feminist or a man? I get that you want to be with someone who is ambitious and got something going on in their head, but please stop giving feminists a bad name. To be equal to men, women do not have to take on every part of the male gender role! My view is that masculin and femine are artifical constructs we take a set of behaviours and ascribe them to one sex or another when if fact they are generic and any one might engage in these behaviors, when we concentrate on peoples bodys instead of their minds and who they are as individuals we are making huge mistake the same mistake that lead to every thing form slavery to extermination camps.

Heard all about the boy and his gender dysmorphia. It wouldn't have worked anyway he would have liked girls when he grew up. Of course the story could also be an urban legend. There is no significant difference in men and women my sister doesn't own a dress and growing up we both played with toy trucks dispite my parents buying her a ton of dolls. Joining some organization of movement has nothing to do with weather you can think independently or not. The very nature of the group is to advocate women stepping up and acting like adults doing things like having a career or educating them selves or buying their own house instead of waiting to marry some guy and move in with him. The very fact that a woman would be attracted to a group like that and advocate it's ideals shows a propensity for independent thought and action.

The problem is not nearly so much that the hate mongers are there , (all movements have them) but the deafening silence among main stream feminism. This makes the movement hard to defend. Every time I speak out as a feminist, the first thing out of peoples mouths is some condemnation for hate speech against men. People despise and laugh at hate mongers, look at how many people read Nazi or Jihadist web sites with tears of laughter literally rolling down their cheeks.

Very good to see a woman speaking out against that kind of crap. It hurts the movement immensely when that happens and you don't hear nearly enough women speaking out against it. Instead they abandon the feminist movement and speak out against the movement it's self rather than the women who misrepresent it.

I don't agree with any thing you wrote. I don't even believe in masculine and feminine they are artificial stereotypes. I could care less if a woman wanted to clean up. The problem is that she is EXPECTED to because of her sex.

I am pro choice and any one who isn't doesn't have women's best interests at heart. If their are women in the military who are anti choice I don't see what that has to do with any thing or why any one would think it is significant, there are even Nazis in the military.

If that's what you mean, I'm going to break this down for you. When it comes to girls like that , all I can say is grow a spine. I'm not your body guard , and I'm not your f***ing daddy. I like women not scared little girls who want to be forever 8 years old and have me take care of them and fight their battles for them. I'll do that if your sick or otherwise incapacitated but if you have your healthy you fight beside me, you hide behind me and you will look up and no one will be there.

The other way I can read that is that you mean you don't have the strength a man does so you want him to fight our battles for you. You think because men tend to be larger and more physically strong that they should face your fears for you and you should be able to hide behind them. That men are some sort of fighting force and that is their role because of the shape of their body.

Basically they are to be assigned a position in society because of an accident of birth.

I don't get exactly what your referring to when you say that when you don't have the energy to fight for your family your husband is well and capable of it. I could read this two ways.

One your wanting help when your exhausted. and can't fight for your family. What that has to do with you being a feminist or not I don't know as it is perfectly normal for one spouse to take up the slack when the other is not well or tired out etc. That has nothing to do with a woman being a feminist.

Umm.... I am all for women holding there own but I am not a feminist. I enjoy knowing that the day that I don't have the energy to fight for my family my husband is well and capable of it. I cook practically everyday unless he wants to. And umm I enjoy cleaning and cleaning up after my husband I feel he doesn't do it as well as I do and I feel its a way of showing appreciation. I wrote the article toward feminists because while they are not the only women who are capable of normal healthy independent actions and thoughts they are the ones who are pro active and pushing these ideas, their the ones in the trenches fighting the sexist men and slime ball girly girls who want to hide behind men living off of them like a massive tape worm in their guts.

If you want to know why I consider feminist ideals a must in my partner read the article (when you sober) If I were a gay man why would I want to be romantically involved with any woman?
