Why would YOU make eye contact with someone for 3 seconds (or longer)?

and I don't mean eye contact for a second or less.. Which is just throwing a glance. I mean looking in someone's eyes for at least 3 seconds or over. What would your reason be? Vote!

I don't know, I don't pay any attention to 'eye contact'... I personally think it's the dumbest form of flirting, I mean eye contact is generally just good etiquette. I regularly have to do it in my job just to acknowledge people, it has nothing to do with anything more than that. I might look at someone i'm attracted to but that doesn't specifically mean eye contact, I might also look at someone just out of curiosity. That's why I don't read into it at all or use it as a form of flirting, it's too subtle and you could easily misjudge what the persons intentions are... like what's the point in flirting if you aren't going to make it obvious?
