Having text conversation late at night, what does it mean?

When you and a guy/girl stay up til 3am or later at night texting until either one decides that they have to sleep or fall asleep, is there a reason?

This is practically a "does he like me" question, just more generalized!

I don't text someone that late unless I like them

I'm pretty sure that he does like you. I know for a fact that if I'm not interested in a girl as far as dating them or wanting to get to know them better to move towards something more serious I won't waste time late at night when I could be talking to someone else I do like. I know when I can get a girl to text me a few extra hours then her usual bed time it makes me feel good and lets me know that she is defiantly interested in me and wants to know more about me and vice versa.
