Do girls think guys are pathetic eating alone?

I am recently (year ago) divorced and it still feels weird going to restaurants alone. All of my friends are married so when I go out I am alone it seems I am the only one. If I see a group of girls eating and they look my way or a cute waitress, I feel like they are thinking "how sad." Am I just being too self conscious?

I am about ready to start flirting with women more but this is about the only time I see anyone and I have this hangup.

No not at all. Maybe if you're at a huge table alone versus a bar I would think something fishy is going on. I think if you feel people are looking at you this way and they indeed are, you may be sending off a vibe that you feel insecure about being alone. Flirt while you're out, that may be another reason so many women looking at you. Don't try to get involved with everyone you flirt with but have fun with it.

I have to admit, if I see someone eating alone, the first thought that pops into my mind is that the poor person has no friends. But if the person is acting confidently and doesn't seem bothered that he is eating alone, I think that he has a lot of confidence which is a turn on

No people don't see you as pathetic. I wait tables and I don't think anything different about people eating alone.

No way!!! Honestly they're probably admiring your confidence. Most people are too self conscious to eat alone.

Browse through your magazine and have your meal at the same time? I can do this for hours.. that's how I make eating alone enjoyable.
