What are the similarities between lust and love?

They can overlap, but lust doesn't necessitate liking or caring about the object of lust.

Now for me, when there's mutual lust... i tend to develop more generalized feelings of warmth. But they're not the same.

Well, they both make you quite happy. I'm having trouble coming up with anything else they have in common. Love can start from lust but they are definitely not the same thing.

Lust is physical attraction. Love is devotion.

It's easier to be devoted to someone you are attracted to, though. You are more interested in being around them, after all.

COMPLETELY without? My vote is no. Physical intimacy is important, and sexuality is the highest level of that. It has to be there at least periodically, otherwise there is no passion, and without passion there isn't much connection. The lack of passion is like a wall that keeps you apart.
