How should I approach this girl on Facebook?

So for the first time ever I feel like approaching this girl on Facebook. Don't really know what to do. I only use Facebook for friends so trying to meet a girl on here is new to me. I just happened to be on a friends page, and I was forced to do a double take when I saw a pretty girl on her friend's list. She's the type of girl that if I saw at a party...I would have to at least say hi, if not I'd be kicking myself if I didn't.

Now normally in person, I would just approach her...introduce myself and see what happens. Should I just use this same approach on FB? I have no clue if it works the same lol. Just feels odd online...

So girls I need to ask. How would you like for a guy to approach you on FB? I was thinking about just sending her a message saying hi, and introducing myself. How would you like for a guy to approach you on FB?

This happened to me. The only thing I can say is maybe go through the friend if you can, then do NOT be creepy and lay your heart on the line for her. The more you say about yourself the wierder it gets. Try and keep it simple to begin with.

Also try and find out as much about her as you can from your mutual friend, get her permission to add her and then go from there. From the girl's perspective all she can see of you is your profile picture so until you add her she isn't going to know whether or not she's interested. If the mutual friend is too distant send her a FB email saying that you thought she was gorgeous and you want to get to know her and would she be ok if you added her.

One thing that is quite important, though in this situation: Make sure that your spelling is at least passable and that you have coherent emails.

Yeah I won't lay my heart out lol...not in love, just think she's gorgeous. But you recommend me adding her first before sending her a message? I just feel awkward about doing that. I know every time someone adds me that I don't know...I get this "who the...is this?" look on my face. lol

No send her a message explaining things and asking if its ok to add her, then make sure that you add her and go from there. The guy that it happened to me with asked our mutual FB friend if he could add me, I said yes and he took it as a signal to send me a mamoth email and asked me out all at the same time. I remember thinking that really all I wanted was to check out his fb page to make sure I was into it lol. Basically, just try and avoid that and I think you'll be in with a chance ; )

Tell her the same thing you said up there. That you saw her on a friends page and had to do a double take.Be honest. I've had a guy do that before..and we really hit it off. She should feel fattered. But when doing that, introduce youself too.

You don't want to not approach her..cause you never know what could happen

Just approaching her causally can be creepy (For online reasons), but I would just send her a message saying exactly what you felt (don't be shy). If a guy sent me a message about how at the sight of my picture he had to talk to me I would be taken aback as she will too.
