Does sexual tension and chemistry fade?

I've had this incredible sexual tension and chemistry and a guy - but we didn't act on it (we're not dating or anything). I won't be seeing him now for a while and we won't be having any contact... will the chemistry and tension still be there next time we see each other?

What typically makes sexual chemistry fade when you're not in a relationship or dating the person?

We work for the same company so have to speak on the phone a few times a week. Its been 2 months since we last seen each other and I can still feel the tension/nervousness on the phone when we speak. I'm not sure if that means anything?

We work together so we have contact for work but not for personal. It's been over a month since we seen each other and I still can feel the tension when we speak on the phone at work!
