Would someone wearing headphones come off as unapproachable?

Say you're in a subway or something, and you see someone you're attracted to. But they're wearing headphones. Would that immediately make them seem unapproachable? Why or why not?

It's something I talked about with a few of my friends, and they all seem to have different opinions.

I know personally that I don't mind people trying to talk to me with my headphones in. I think it's more like should you touch them to get their attention. Like they're approachable getting their attention is a different story. Then also you should watch how you come off like you could complement them.. but like not like "Your eyes are gorgeous." That's kinda odd cuz their gonna be like "how long have you been staring at me?" You could say "hey I just wanted to say you look nice if no one has told you that today." Like make it a bit funny cuz then they'll know you're being friendly but not being a creep

I would say so, yeah. One of the main reasons I wear my headphones when walking to or from work and on the train or other public transport is to make it clear that I don't want to be bothered. I don't get to walk through the nicest areas and sometimes I work overtime and work quite late so when I'm on my own, I put my head down and headphones in and hope that I'm left alone. I generally never bother someone with headphones on if I can help it because to me they are an indication that someone doesn't want to be approached.

I always have my headphones on when walking. I still get people approaching me. Usually it’s about something important, like directions or something so I don’t really mind. It’s when they randomly small talk me is when I get annoyed because I got things to do.

I immediately think that they don't want to be approached and I do not. This is also coupled by the fact that every woman I have ever pursued is either already in a relationship or doesn't like me. That is the result every time. So not only does the attractive woman in the head phones look unapproachable but I automatically assume that the woman is taken or won't like me and I don't bother.

Even with headphones people are still approachable, but not everyone likes to be approached especially if it's a wrong way to approach (perverted ways)

Yeah, duh. Especially as a female, even when you’re wearing headphones random nasty ass dudes will still approach you and talk to you then get frustrated when you don’t pay them attention.

Depending on their body language - if they've got their head down, are closing their eyes... t o me, it would mean that don't wish to be disturbed, hence me not wishing to approach them. However, if their body language reads that they are present if their surrounding, I may approach them.

I wouldn't mind if anyone approached me if I had them on.
But I wouldn't want to disturb anyone if they had headphones on.
But yeah, it would seem kinda unapproachable.

Wearing headphones suggests that you don't want to talk at the moment. And I don't think it's unapproachable cuz wearing headphones at the subway is a normal thing. I would say it's unaoproachable if he/she was wearing them nonstop.
And it's unaoproachable if you try to talk to that person but they pretend they don't hear you or just just give you short answers and proceed in listening to whatever they listening to.

Over-ear bulky ones say either "audiophile" or "leave me alone". On-ear headphones could go either way depending on the circumstances. Earbuds, with eyes open or only one in, approachable. Eyes closed, both buds in, leave them alone.

Yes they would, becouse they are doing something for their entretainment, and just enjoying themselves, if you dont have anything important to say just leave them be, (i wear headphones)

I'm completely unapproachable if I have headphones/ earbuds in. I can't hear shit when I'm listening to music. I'll just take the earbud out of their ear.

Headphones (especially on girls) may often mean "I'm busy, and I don't want to talk. Leave me." So don't approach them

Obviously yes. But everyone on a subway is automatically unapproachable, even if they do not have headphones. It's not an environment where it's acceptable to talk to strangers.
