Why is cockiness attractive?

Recently had a flag football game where I had 5 interceptions. Being myself, I acted like I had been there before. I am a modest but confident guy. Not the MOST outgoing, but I talk.

My friend is very outgoing and cocky, sometimes arrogant. He wonders why I'm not being cocky about the game. He says "Why can't you be like me, I'd be cocky about this. That's how you get laid." And the fact is, he does get laid a lot.

I have no idea why a girl would want a cocky guy. Isn't modesty an attractive trait? This boggles my mind because it really does work for him.

okay I did fall for the cocky guy years ago and fell for his games and the charm and all, and it was exciting and I felt like he was just confident and knew what he wanted in life, and I don't know how to explain it but I just automatically trusted anything he said because he seemed so...well confident lol, I guess its a leadership characteristic, and girls love guys who dominate and take control of situations...

however, I'm not sure about all arrogant guys, but our relationship was a fail, he completely used me for attention and played mind games and was a huge flirt and I was blind enough to fall for his trap...and can't stand him or guys like him anymore

now I want a sweet kind guy like yourself, I guess it was just a learning lesson for me and something most girls go through when they fall for the bad boy. In the end we want to marry the good guy.

Hartmut - Way to not be shallow! I myself am not a shallow person but all the girls I have been around truly are. I don't get along with other girls because I am extremely honest. Don't ask me if your makeup looks like sh*t if you don't want to hear the truth. I can't stand the gossip, drama, and shallow comments made about others. This is based on my experiences and perhaps the girls I have associated with are stuck up. I myself am not and that is why most of my friends are men and not women.

It confuses me to, hairdresser has a on/off boyfriend, but apparently he's abusive, doesn't seem care about her, cheats on her, always the one to break up with her and is full of himself. I don't get why she would stick around with him.

If you have seen my previous posts then you would realize I can be, eh, a tad bit cocky. I happen to be extremely good looking. I am also well endowed. I don't feel that having a gift like this should be ignored. The responses that I have gotten online have not been to great. However, in real life my friend, lets just say I am never alone. And the quality of girls that I spend time with is unbelievable. So take it how you want it, you can be that nice quite guy which I am sure these internet girls will eat up, maybe they'll befriend you for cuddle time. But when they're are getting f***ed, they are with someone like me.
