Got a female bartender's number, what next?

Last night I went drinking with friends. We sat at the bar and ordered shots and drinks all night and we got the two bartenders, both female both cute, to drink and take shots with us. I made a decision that I was going to hit on the brunette one. We talked quite a bit and I goofed and joked with her. At one point when she walked by me she rubbed her hand on my arm. At the end of the night I went up to her told her how much fun I had and then told her she should come out with us sometime. I then asked for her number, and she gave it to me. She then told me to follow her around the bar while she cleaned up.

I already tipped her before this entire number stuff so I know it wasn't to get a tip.

What should I think, this girl is 5 years older than me, has a kid.

Update, texted her tonight to see what she was doing tonight, she told me that she has her kid tonight. I texted her back maybe next time then. She said thanks for the invite.

bravo on getting a bartenders number...they are probably the most challenging to get because they get hit on and asked for their number constantly...she's obviously attracted to you, found something in you she liked...keep it up, don't pressure her at all, you don't want to seem clingy...take things slow, ask when she works next and tell her maybe you'll stop in to say hello...dont make it seem like you're a player but make sure she sees you have a life and aren't gonna stop in EVERY time she's working...you did something right, so good work man, seriously tho they are the hardest to work with due to the fact they are ALWAYS getting hit on

If you like her, she likes you, you get along, the age doesn't matter, the kid doesn't necessarily matter (but will be something you have to address and be a part of if you end up being with her). Go for her. At the very least, might get a nice new friend who works at a bar (means cheap/free drinks occasionally :P)

If you're interested in her and you're okay with her having a kid and being older than you then ask her when she's free. Take her out on a date or just to get coffee. You need to get to know her beyond drinking and at the bar setting.

If you just want to have fun with her then leave it be. Text her next time you go out and see what she's up to.

Did you follow her around? Because if you did, I think it was a mistake. Correct course of action after obtaining the phone number: get the heck out of there. Wait 3-7 days...then call her.

That would seem a bit needy. He would be just like all of the other guys who jump the gun and call her the next day. The other guys pursuing her don't matter because the only thing that matters is who she is interested in. I contend that calling her the next day would make her less interested in our friend "A_Guy". He needs to stand out and be somewhat mysterious (and seem like he has a lot going on in his life).

Meanwhile, she's wondering why he's not trippin' all over himself trying to score a date right off the bat - so she becomes intrigued. Any girls have thoughts on this?
