Crush on my Teaching Assistant....help?

Okay so at my University we have TA's (teaching assistants) in most of our classes. The TAs are students who have done really well in the class before and help the current students. Normally they are around the same age maybe a year or two older or younger, depending on when you take the class.

I have such a major crush on my physics TA. He is only a year older than me (he's 21 and I'm almost 20) and super super super shy. I am not always shy when it comes to guys and the guys I go for always make the first move.

He is super shy and I go to all the study groups just to flirt with him. We do talk about other things than physics lately, but I can't tell if he can tell I am crushing hard. I think he might be crushing on me too but is too shy to pursue anything.

I have a few questions:

1. Is it okay to ask my TA out or could things get super awkward in the class...also how should I ask a guy out?

2. How can I make it more obvious that I'm flirting, he is super shy and I want to make sure he knows I'm into him.

3. Any advice on what you would do?!

1) I think that this answer is yes you can ask him out, as long as...

2) You make sure you catch his eye and hold contact for AT LEAST 3 seconds, and then glance away, but smile as you do so. Also, if you blush, that's a great way to flirt. If you see lint on his sleeve or something, pick it off, sort of letting your fingers linger on his sleeve for just a fraction of a second longer. Just say something like, "Lint..." and smile, looking down and away quickly. Find other small reasons to touch him. If you're in a study session and you sit next to him, let your leg bump against his lightly, but then leave it there. Expose the insides of your forearm, lean slightly forward when talking to him, NEVER cross your arms. Brush your hair to the side, twirl it absentmindedly with your fingers while staring off into space. (<--I hear guys love that.) Bite your bottom lip slightly, lick your lips lightly. If you REALLY want to flirt, lick your lips slightly while staring at his lips when he talks to you.

3) What I would do? Some slight flirting, regular talking mixed in, heavier flirting, then if he seems to respond well, ask him. Also, shy guys don't seem to like when you play "hard to get" because they're so shy they feel as if they're out of the game already. You may have to pursue him because he's so shy. He won't chase you if he's really shy.

hmm well , perhaps you should confess to him about crush since he jus the TA not the teacher..so I guess its safe at the same time not a incest kinda of crush (u know wht I mean),make sure you have real feelings for him honey ..not jus infactuation

Well I have TA's too but 9/10 times it'll be one of only, like, four different Asian guys in our department (I'm a comp sci major so go figure lol) but I am taking chem so I had a regular female TA last semester.
So if you want to make it more obvious you're flirting, stay after the class, start up a conversation not related to the class and ask him to hang out outside class some time. If he agree's he's almost definitely interested. If he refuses he might just be acting shy but also might not be interested.
So assuming he says yes, you're hanging out with him just like you would be anyone else and then any regular rules apply. You might want to wait until after the class is over to make any really big moves or if you feel comfortable with dating your TA, maybe try something now. But if you want something to happen, you should do it because he's in the position of teacher and it isn't exactly proper for him to ask out a student

Be sure that dating a TA isn't against the rules of your institution, and then ask him out when no one's around. You want to keep this private because otherwise gossip of favortism would run rampant. Yes, definitely go for it, ask him out on a date :)

Too bad it's not chemistry or he'll be really good at flirting... you should let him know that you need more help outside of discussion. If it gets this far, while studying, suggest that you are hungry and you can ask him to join you for lunch/dinner.

well at my university in canada it is not against rules for students and TA's to date but it is frowned upon if they have any part in marking you due to favoritism. it might be worth checking out school rules first but forbidden love is always the most interesting.
