Why was he looking at me at the party?

A party took place and before I've been talking to this guy. He asked me a lot of questions, but only until we were alone. As soon as others have arrived we gone away from each-other. But I caught him observing me all the time that night. He sat there with his friends at the table and was looking at me. I caught him when I got me something to drink and turned around. What was going through his mind? Why was he looking? I really wonder, cause I hope I did nothing wrong when we were talking

Well he was probably interested in you, it can be intimidating walking up to an entire group of people and talking to just one person compared to a one on one interaction. I guess it's possible something went wrong when you were talking but I generally try to avoid eye contact with a person and ignore over staring directly at them in that situation.
