Is being called a doll a compliment?

I have a huge crush on a cafe owner. We always flirt and the flirting has gotten sexual at times.

I saw him today. I’d made a little effort and I’d curled my hair. He kept saying my name in conversation, just for the sake of it.

He said “you look like a doll today” and I misheard and thought he said “dog” and when I said “did you say I look like a dog”, the waitress said “no way’” and he said “I’d never say anything like that, I said you look like a doll”

I then said “thank you, I’ll take it as a compliment” and she said “it was a compliment”

then he said something like “I don’t play with dolls” he kept staring at me and looking into my eyes.

Does he like me? Also what does it mean if you look like a doll?

if it helps, I have big blue eyes and dark brown hair.
