I work as a counter girl at a Japanese restaurant, and I never get hit on?

So, I hear stories from other girls working in restaurants as cashiers or counter girls that they are TIRED of getting hit on by men.

I've been working at a sushi restaurant as a counter girl who gives out pick up orders to people for about 2 months now and I never blatantly got hit on by men, maybe just a few lingering eye contact, and smiles...actually there was this one guy around his 20s who kept on coming back every weekend to pick up his orders ( he probably knows I am the girl who always takes phone orders as I saw him looking at me a couple of times while he sat in to eat ) but he did that for about 2 weeks and never came back again.

It is mainly upper class married men who picks up the food as the restaurant is located in a rich suburban area of NJ and maybe its the fact that rich people really don't go around "hitting" on young girls...? I don't know...

I get talked to / approached by guys my age at university ( well it rarely so happens)... But I don't seem to get hit in much by guys in public... I consider myself average looking at best but my parents and siblings tell me otherwise, that I'm better than average( probably trying to cheer me up). Anyhow, I'm not sure. Do any of you girls consider yourselves attractive, but never get hit on while at your workplace? My male coworkers talk to me, but customers rarely make small talk with me... Its kind of weird...

wow, this is ridiculous...if you WERE getting hit on AT WORK it would be grounds for a sexual harassment suit, and MOST men know that, and could give a sh*t what you look like...they just won't do it. If you are so hard-up to be hit-on then YOU introduce the flirting first...slide the guy you like your number...something a little pro-active and assertive...otherwise...just do your job, and look for your attention for physical interaction and flirtations in a non-professional work environment...its not like you work at a strip club...you work at a restaurant. Have you considered that these other women might be Asian and you might not be? Its a japanese restaurant...guys go there expecting to see a certain type. Also...who knows...maybe you aren't that attractive, or don't sell your beauty well...because you said you think you're average or less... and its been my experience...girls who are...KNOW they are. Maybe you just need a boost in your self-esteem to make yourself more appealing, because guys can pick up on the idea that a girl doesn't think much of herself...and if she doesn't love herself...how could he ever? its not attractive. so. learn to love yourself...upsell your personality...and relax at work its not a street-corner there julia roberts! =) you want my honest opinion on your looks you can send over a photo...and ill tell you straight what you look like, and if you need improvements for more attention...but really...you shouldn't be hunting for physical attention over emotional...girls like that end up with complexs and doing things with random people just to make themselves feel better. aren't you better than that? quit looking for SELFrespect in the eyes of OTHERS...STRANGERS NO LESS. They don't matter. You want to be flirted with...do it when you aren't at work.

To be honest i probably would take what your co-workers are saying with a pinch of salt, from my experience many women convince themselves that men are flirting with the just for sparking up a conversation or smiling etc... also I'm sure your a very good looking lady, if you want guys to flirt with you then perhaps you should try wearing clothes that are alittle more provocative for lack of a better word, put on some make up, wear perfume, do your hair differently and act more open and friendly with the guys you like. i don't want to get hit on so badly...its just that this thought occurred to me while I was working, how guys never seem to "flirt with me" even if the opportunity presented itself easily, like when I'm cashiering...guys don't really flirt with me in general...they might look at me in a certain way, but I've never gotten an outright flirty remark from men...i've been single for a very long time, and just trying to figure out why I'm not so approachable to guys...

who knows I just might not be too attractive enough for guys, although my last boyfriend said he was initially quite intimidated by me and he had to build up courage for a long time just to approach me...does the fat that I look like I won't put out make guys less willing to hit on me?
