Is it okay not to text first a girl for a few days?

Girl could be your girlfriend or just a female friend

If you have nothing to talk about, is it okay not to text her for a few days? I mean, instead of texting daily "hey how are you?" or "What's up?" without having anything to say in particular? And is it okay to not text first for a few days if you've been texting her first for months (and talking almost everyday)?

I feel like an asshole for not texting her right but like at the same time, I just don't have anything to talk about in particular and I don't want to seem clingy.

I guess this could give the girl an opportunity to text first and let her lead the conversation (if she has anything special that she wants to talk about).

I have been in similar situations, only I call every day I don't see her, or she calls me, just to wish each other good morning and to know all is well.
If you get into that as a routine, you find yourselves just talking for a few seconds, or in your case texting to say all is well, and that is enough.

If you were to go for a job interview, you would dress smart or a pair of ripped jeans and old tee shirt? I'm guessing you would dress smart because you can always tone things down a bit depending on how other people dress, but you can never undo the damage caused by wearing those jeans and tee shirt..

Personally? I would phone her and say something silly like. I didn't want to text you because I was concerned it might be a little too much, so I thought I'd phone you instead. :) The way it works is if you text her next day, and then she texts you the day after, you can keep that going.. if however she doesn't text you back the next day you know how long to wait in future.
