I don't want to say “I'm glad you like it.” I want my answer to continue the conversation longer. What kind of answer provides that?

"I'm glad you liked it" is a good start.

I'd follow that with "hich song / fenre / artist did you like best?" and "What are your favorite ones, and why?"

Asking what the music does in one's heart, mind and soul seems to work best for me. A suggestion: Try to ask questions that require a little bit of thinking. The closed-end "yes/no" questions are conversation killers / stoppers in my experience.

Also, don't be afraid to answer similar questions. Who knows where dialog could lead?

Fucking hell people don’t even know how to keep a conversation going any longer. Smh. Just ask an open ended question.

” What did you like about it?”
“ What’d you think about the lyrics? “
“ I like to listen to it when I do (blank) what kind of music do you like when you go (blank)?”

I could go on, and on. Just ask questions. Conversation is a give and take, and most people make boring statements and barely ask questions.
