Is it clingy to search and follow someone who has different username name than real name?

Is it weird to search a guy and follow him on social media? We had 3 days ago our first date. I have his phone number but not his social media account. I found him from a mutual follower but his username is not his real name. So if he will ask me how I found him I will tell him that I searched for him because I wanted to find his profile. Is this cringe?

You know what's actually cringe? Overthinking.

Having others' phone numbers make the Instagram (assuming you're talking about it) suggest you their accounts and you have mutual friend on top of that so there are more chances of finding him.

You do not control what other people find cringe. He may find totally normal and reasonable things about you cringe, would you stop doing that? Nope.

I don't think he'll ask how you found him. But if he did, simply tell him the truth and be cool. If he's in aggressive tone like confronting you, tell him that you didn't know it's rude to follow someone you know and randomly found in the suggestions/mutual following.

I don't know why I read the word "clingy" as "cringey". But my opinion still stands.

In fact, the chance of it being cringe is more than it being clingy lol. Why would it be clingy to follow someone. At this rate, hugging someone would be equal to marrying xD

My first reaction is that it is Cringe 😬 ⁉️ All the 💩that runs through guys mind in this dynamic are:
