What can I do to make a move on a guy as a girl?

So I am a straight female and I have a crush on this straight guy who I met through mutual friends.
This guy and I are not too familiar with each other but have spoken here and there with casual questions or hellos for the past few months.
How can I make a move on him as a girl?

Just start talking to him. (Anon's suggestion and @rabbitzzz aren't bad either.) But, seriously, find something to ask him or say to him. "Cool shoes." Compliment his haircut the next time he gets one. Anything to get the conversation started. Then talk to him. Just things he likes. Or doesn't like. Get to know him. The other option is be bold. Say to him, "hey, get coffee with me?" This one girl did that to my son (they're both your age) and it worked like a charm. Bottom line: the move isn't so much a move as make a connection. He'll appreciate your confidence because it will make up for his shyness.

He is a fellow student at the high school that I attend. I am looking for a long term relationship (he is as well according to the mutual friend).
So basically, we are looking for the same thing and a good thing is that the friend told me that his type is like me.
BUT I don't know how to make a move on him.

Plan a group activity that involves guys and girls, and invite him along. Then spend all of your time talking to him, sitting with him, etc. and being attentive. He should get the hint.
