If a guy asks you if you have any big plans for the weekend, does it mean anything?

This guy I like that's flirted with me and always talking to me asked me that question, and I don't know how to take it-

casual convo or wanting to know if I was available? Its hard to tell sometimes.

I have found that it usually means one of three things:

1)They like you and are working up to asking you out.

2)They like you as a friend and are wanting to get to know you as a friend.

3)They are trying to be friendly or conversational and polite.

If they are flirting with you as well as asking you that question, it's usually answer #1.

If they are not flirting with you, then it's usually #2 or 3.
