Girls: When you ask a guy what he's doing over the weekend?

Do most of you say it, with the intention of implying to spend one on one time with him--and being attracted to him?

I've had so many girls ask me this that may have been attracted to me.. But also.. What I don't get is.. Why can't these girls be more direct. If you DO want to spend time with me over the weekend, just suggest it! Don't automatically assume the guy knows what you're talking about. In a way, if this is a girl's way of saying she's interested, to me--it feels as ineffective as a guy being interested in a girl, and asking her to just "hang out" instead of directly asking her out.

Girls that say this and are interested, I'm guessing they're saying this partly because they don't want to risk rejection.. But what's the point? If you don't get your point across and assume he'll pick the memo that you're interested, but he doesn't... what will you do then? He might move on and be disinterested..

It's not a matter of being rejected, but of putting yourself "out there" for a guy who may or may not be playing the field. She's trying to see if you're going to be doing something with another girl in a one-on-one setting. She's laying the groundwork to let you know she is interested. Usually, a girl is not desperate enough to ask a guy out -- or be willing to offer a last-minute date request for the upcoming weekend.

That's the thing though with you girls.. You DON'T look desperate asking guys out. Stop being such cowards...! If you want something, go for it!

This is why I think there is so much initial miscommunication between the two sexes. Women aren't direct enough these days and rely on guys to get their "hints." It's stupid and it doesn't work nearly half the time. And then you wonder why you friend zoned him, when you might not have been direct enough in the first place...

Cowards? It's not like guys are all actually direct. Try putting yourself in the place of a person who has to deal with a series of worthless players. It's not cowardice, it's wisdom...and self-defense. Only a fool would allow herself to deal with such people.

And why don't you try dealing yourself being in a dude's shoes... Guys are always pressured to make the first moves, ASK the girls out--aka risk rejection, make plans, and pay for the dates? What about the girls? If they look half-decent, they'll have guys lined up to them, and they just sit back and chose.

I have put myself in a guy's shoes, I have listened to the different versions of the two sides to a story -- for quite a few years, actually -- and I'm trying to offer an answer to your question. You just don't really seem to want to hear it...

It depends. Sometimes its just to make conversation, other times its to hang out. Usually if its to hang out then they'll have an open schedule or they'll say "well we should hang out maybe." If not, then chances are they're just have a conversation with you.
