Drunk and sober...is being attracted to someone the same?

For the ladies...If you're drunk (not smashed out of your mind, more like being able to remember at least half the night) and you are attracted to someone, flirting with them, pretty much being obvious that you're into them would the same feelings be there if you are sober?

I'm not talking about hooking up with someone I'm talking about actually being interested in someone.

I know there are beer goggles sometimes but for the most part alcohol is like truth serum and you usually end up saying how you feel. So if you flirt and tell someone that they are good looking etc... would you feel the same way sober?

This is probably dependent on the individual, but I will answer for myself. When I'm sober I am usually pretty shy, so when I've had a couple drinks I have a tendency to open up a bit more since I have loosened up. If I flirt with a guy when I'm drunk, then I am more than likely attracted to him. I would think this would be true for most girls unless she is absolutely smashed or just really really desperate and flirting with everyone, but these are things that you would be able to notice her doing when you're with her at the time that she is drunk. So, yes, I would more than likely feel the same way sober, but I would be far less likely to admit it.

Actually, when I'm tipsy I get a bit flirtatious. One time, ONE TIME ... I flirted with a guy that I wasn't in the least interested and ended up kissing... omg... completely disliked it afterwards...The next day I apologized to him and told him that I wasn't interested in him at all and I'm sorry that I got carried away by the alcohol. After that day, I stopped drinking that much and haven't committed that mistake ever since. (I remembered everything that happened that night). (I only happened to kiss him because I was sad since I had a problem with my ex that time and we were about to break up)

I want the answer to this question from a guy's perspective. But from a girl's perspective, I get quite a little emotional and can spill more than I mean to but if I offer compliments or say I like you, I will mean it HOWEVER my exes have pointed out that I can get quite flirty - laughing, hugging other guys etc when a little tipsy. So yes my words are normally true, my actions may be a little exaggerated.

Personally I'm more open and flirt a lot more when I've had a little alcohol in me. Unless I know the girl is just being a huge tease I usually mean what I say in terms of flirting and giving off signals, especially when I'm getting the same vibe from her.

Being drunk and having sex have absolutely no correlation of feelings with me. Basically at last call, I go hunting. Most of the time there is someone on the rebound, or a girl with low self-esteem who wants to get banged out after. I go for the most attractive one and from time to time end up with a heavy hottie because there are no other options.

It was even proven on mythbusters that alcohol makes you think people are more attractive then they actually are and it was proven for both men rating women (sober then drunk) and women rating men (sober then drunk). They rating 30 pictures while sober then 30 same people just shuffled and on average they rated them much higher while drunk.

I'm naturally very flirty when I'm drunk, so I may flirt with a guy I am not interested in. If I tell someone they are good-looking then I probably mean it. If they told you that drunk, they probably would mean it sober too. It's not always easy to tell though, try to talk and flirt with them sober. lol

Well the thing is she started flirting with me really hard and obvious, I flirted back but she was really drunk. The whole night she flirted and was giving me every good signal but then she mentioned a boyfriend that she didn't seem like she enjoyed being with or at least that the relationship was fading out. I got her number anyway and texted her she replied back a few days later apologizing. I joked about it and brushed it off. She texted me the other day though, I asked her how she was and...

...she said she was somewhat OK and mentioned "i'm single now?" and clearified that they were trying to working it out but she wasn't sure it was going to happen. That night was the first night I met her so I assume her telling me this is not exactly a bad thing since she doesn't know me that well. I feel like it was her way of "keeping me posted" but I'm not jumping to any conclusinos untill I run into her again or she texts me.

for me, (if I know the guy) the feelings don't change, just the inhibition to openly admit it, the fear of rejection has subsided with the alcohol. And it should be taken as a compliment I trust him enough to get drunk/tipsy/intoxicated with him..alone. Probably means if anything did happen id be okay with it. And I haven't forgotten it the next day, but if there aren't any feelings on his end for something more its easier not to feel rejected, you can jus "blame it on the alcohol"

Yes, when I am drunk but I can remember parts of the night, I flirt or hook up with the people I find attractive, but I never say that I like them. If a girl doesn't like a guy, she will not be able to say she likes them if she doesn't.

Yeah. As far as I'm concerned (I'm drunk right now0, drunk attraction = pure physical attraction. No "is he my type" "is he cool enough" "does he hang out with the right group" BS
