How to stop giving off boyfriend vibe?

im at a stage in my life where I'm 20, poor, and don't have a car. while I'm working towards not being poor and having a car I still need sex in the meantime. it helps me with concentration, stress, and creativity in all the other facets of my life. I'm not totally opposed to the idea of a girlfriend, its just that I can barely take care of myself right now let alone take care of someone else financially/emotionally. plus it just seems like a waste of time right now. I don't have a problem meeting or attracting women really. I live 15 min away from an entertainment/bar district I frequent and 20 min away from a college campus. whenever I approach women the interaction usually goes pretty well and I'm either bold and agressive or relaxed and wry depending on my mood and I can usually leave with at least a phone number and a smile and sometimes a makeout. but that's where I'm stuck , I feel like I keep giving them the impression I'm their boyfriend in training where the next time I call is to ask them out to dinner or something, when really I'm wanting them to view me as someone they just want to hookup with. I think I'm in this high school mindset where I had my parents money and a car and I could just propose a date that I would build off of and get laid in a couple weeks subsequently. its possible I'm approaching the wrong girls , but I don't think so, the part of town I frequent that I mentioned is a hookup culture. I'm not saying I need to unlearn how to be charming or whatever, I just think I need to learn how to be more upfront with my intentions.

sooo any advice?

to paraphrase what I'm really asking is ladies: when guys approach you that you are into : how do you decide what guys lump into the potential boyfriend categories and which ones do you just want to hookup and have fun with?

if this idea doesn't apply to you then it doesn't apply to you, any pretentious self aggrandizing remarks on how you don't just go out and hook up with people are unnecesary

How do you know that the next time you ask them out they expect dinner?

You just need to make it more obvious through actions and conversation topics that you aren't looking to be a boyfriend. When you go on dates, go for drinks / her place / your place but don't take her out for dinners and stuff early on. Make sure not to pay for anything for her either as that will make you more of a "provider" in her mind rather than a fling.

Conversationally, just don't talk about your future together and you can even tell girls if you want to that you aren't ready for a relationship and just want to date right now
