How to interruptate this?

My Aunt's boyfriend doesn't seem to be too friendly around me. I get this feeling he lets me tag along with my Aunt because I'm family, but he doesn't really make small talk with me, unless it's about what we are doing; like me, my aunt went to the foobank and he just asked for the direction there. I seen in the car today and I wavied to him, but he seemed to just forcely smiled at me, but could tell he wasn't happy. I asked him too about where he was heading with my aunt the other day, and he just blunt out said " What do you want"? I want to talk to him and ask if he likes me, more or less, but don't know how to strike up the conversation about this.
