I鈥檓 vegan and have been for the better half of my adult life. I have adapted a diet that farm animals eat in solidarity. No animals should be subjected to such abuse. Why eat a dog when you can eat a carrot?
No, because animals dont have souls I have killed chickens, lobsters, and goats, and eaten them. If anything it made the food more enjoyable and gave me a greater respect for the sacrifice.
If you can't watch why do you still eat them? If you like cows why do you still eat them? Dog lovers don't eat dogs so why is it different if it's a cow?
@Pentagram_medallion in that case, many people on the planet won't be able to eat meat. Oh and make no mistake, I sure can watch and I've skinned chickens, lamb etc myself. I just prefer not to. That's different from not being able to handle it.馃槉
Do you think this is moral though? How can you justify killing someone who doesn't want to die? And also we have so many alternatives that taste realistic and everyone can live
@Pentagram_medallion Okay you clearly are not okay with eating meat but I am. I also don't have that view because even the holy book that I follow allows us to eat meat so there is no religious obligation either. If you still want to argue about morals though, maybe we should start thinking about humans murdering fellow humans and try to correct that basic flaw in the world before trying to be an animal rescue hero. Animals are hunted anyway by other predators too. It's how nature works. It's just that people don't prefer to eat meat and that's okay. What's not okay however is trying to project this as one of the biggest problems in the world while there are so many other problems going on. Prioritise the wrong doings in the world for example. Murder of other humans, deforestation, pollution the list can go on and people choosing meat in their diet is a far smaller problem, trust me sweetie. The Bible asks us the same thing I just put forth: "And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" I know you'll keep arguing but I'm finished here. Have a nice day 馃槉
Just because a religion says its OK does that make it OK? I don't know what religion you are but I'm just gonna talk about catholics for a minute. I'm supposed to be a Catholic but I chose not to be or live that way because I don't agree with what it preaches or with its past. They made it OK to rape young boys, murder and Bury women and babies, even though they say to love your neighbour and be kind and stuff. Stuff they did is illegal and its illegal for a reason. Murdering other humans really isn't the biggest issue in todays world. Damaging the earth is like deforestation and pollution so I'll agree with you there. But climate change is a huge problem at this moment and one of the biggest contributer to that is the meat industry so by not eating meat or reducing your consumption we can try reverse climate change. And humans and animals should be equal so if its wrong to kill a person it is wrong to kill an animal
@Pentagram_medallion I live in a place where we don't mass produce cattle for your information. We rear them in small farms and overall, the meat consumption here is small. And we don't waste meat and want more. I'm sure that here, meat processing does not make such a huge impact as much as cattle processing units in American farms do. But that aside, I'm pretty shocked how you dismissed my statement as and I quote, "Murdering other humans really isn't the biggest issue in todays world." Shows how little regard you have for another life. You really should introspect about what you said and how it portrays you as. If a person is ready to make such a statement, it automatically nullifies whatever "regard for life" statements they make. I'm not even gonna compare a human life and an animal life. Just the fact that you said that one line is enough to see your thought process so there's no use in arguing further. You can continue further if you want. Don't expect replies.
You know what? I'm rephrasing my original reply to the question. So here we go. "Nope I'm an insane eater of beef, mutton and chicken. It's just food so makes no difference 馃槉"
I don't care what you think of me you don't know me anyways. How little you think of animal life days a lot about you. Humans and animals are equal. We are no more important than anyone else and we are not superior. No matter where you are in the world killing an animal is all done cruelly also I'm not from America. I'm from a small island yet here there is still mass breeding and the slaughtering is horrific so the location doesn't matter its all wrong.
@Pentagram_medallion Oh pardon my reply after I said I won't. I wad going through the other answers and saw you popping up in every one of them. I've only one thing to tell you. See the not which the original asker mentioned below her question. "No vegan" You are trying to make others understand your viewpoint in a question where that viewpoint is already out of the window. 驴Comprendo?
Yea I saw no vegan but I've chosen to ignore that because I've ecery right to comment. I'm not trying to show people my viewpoint or whatever but I'm just trying to stand up for what's right and speak up for those who can't. I want to ask people why they think it's OK and show them a more compassionate way of living where everyone can be happy, animals and humans included.
@Pentagram_medallion Yep you have every right to comment just as I have every right to choose to eat meat as my main diet. Stand up for what is right? If you're defining eating meat as wrong, then I'd be a sinner. Hmm... In that case, so be it馃槍
Then maybe you are a sinner if that's the case. OK also if that's the way you justify things what would you think if I said it's my choice to rape someone, my choice to murder someone, my choice to harass someone, my choice to mug someone, my choice to kidnap someone?
@Pentagram_medallion What you said now is how everyone justifies their actions at some point. If you say they're all your choice, then you don't need me to interfere and tell you it's wrong because everyone knows it's not only wrong but downright irrelevant to compare a choice of diet to criminal offenses. Oh well, no point explaining any more to you. You're a vegetarian. I'm a hardcore non-vegetarian. We'll go our separate ways from here. Adi贸s馃槉
Because it happened many years ago how does that justify it? There are some weird cruel shit people did years ago that is now illegal so just because it happened years ago doesn't make it moral
@Pentagram_medallion lol 馃槀 chill!!! Food is food for me!!! I love chicken 馃悢 cows 馃惍 shrimp fish you name it!!! People eat it to stay alive in my book! So no need to be all grumpy 馃槨 or getting offended!!! What you think might be right for you. But everyone thinks differently so you need to understand and respect lol 馃槀
I'm not offended just trying to speak up for those who can't because people are so ignorant they ignore their cries. How can you look at an animal begging for its life and call it food?
You can feel good on a plant based diet too and nobody has to suffer. Everyone can then feel good it's a win win. Its not a tough life for you. They have the real tough lives. They're the real victims here. Right now there are so many alternatives and mock meats that are realistic as hell and taste great so you should try that
There doesn't have to be suffering. If you switch to a plant based diet there are plenty benefits : nobody has to die, it's better for the environment and could reverse climate change, its better for your health, we could feed those starving in poor countries...
Not to me it isn鈥檛. To me, survival and enjoying my life is more important. If that means buying beef from the grocer, or butchering my own deer for the winter, I will do so. You can call it selfish all you like, that doesn鈥檛 bother me.
U don't need meat to survive. I haven't died yet unfortunately. Taking an animal's life unnecessarily is selfish. How can you enjoy life knowing you are inflicting pain on others?
You actually do. Especially up north, where I live. Unnecessarily? It鈥檚 kept me alive before. I don鈥檛 inflict pain hon. It鈥檚 either bought from the store already long dead, or i shot it through the heart or head. You can call it selfish all you like, it doesn鈥檛 concern me.
By paying the meat industry you're paying someone to harm them so it doesn't matter if you do it urself or get someone to do it it's just as bad either way. Yea it might have u alive now but it's not necessary to keep u alive when there's so much more options and alternatives
Those animals end up on your plate because you pay for it to end up on your plate. Also if you had to chose between cutting a carrot and cutting an animals throat, who do you think will suffer more?
@Pentagram_medallion yes, exactly. And because I pay for it I make sure I finish it <3
I think choosing between what suffers more to have the other one killed and be okay with it, is wrong.
That way of thinking is the same with how the animal in question looks. If someone was to let say shoot a bunny on the spot. A lot of people would be shocked, me included. But if someone would step on a cockroach, a lot of people wouldn't even raise an eyebrow.
In this case it wouldn't be 'who suffers more?' but 'what creature is cuter?' which is also wrong but the same way... Choosing on what suffers more... what looks the cutest... leaving the other side at an unfair disadvantage is wrong to me.
I say that if you really cherish life, you eat fruit and fruit alone because it is simply not alive.
I do cherish life and that is why I treat all animals equal. I'm not perfect but I try and be as kind and treat every single species with respect. I absolutely hate bugs and stuff I'm so terrified of them. I used to step on them but now I don't I choose to leave them alone stay away and let them live. This whole who is cuter thing shouldn't be an excuse. You should at least try going vegan and leave the animals off your plate
@Pentagram_medallion I'm not justifying animal slaughter. I just don't see why people ignore plants well being and go all out for animals. In my eyes it's just as bad.
@Pentagram_medallion I find it wrong to ignore one group, be okay with the plants being slaughtered because you prefer to protect the other. You call us meat eaters. I see your group as plant eaters and nothing more.
I feel bad for the ones I see in the field that they will slaughter but I am not gonna stop eating meat because I can't save them so it won't help anyway
No. I never even think about that. It's like regular food to me. Like picking an apple.

nope. But I am very careful about where I get my meat from and I love eating stuff that I've killed myself like deer or fish because I know it was treated properly.

Because if a tiger ate my ass he wouldn't feel bad

No, because animals dont have souls

No, I do not.
In fact I sing "cut out my tongue so that I can't scream, there is meat, there is meat on me!" while I eat meat.
Nope I was raised on farm and we grown up eatting animals we rasied from young. Every November was butcher month
No, but I think we can afford to treat our animals well during their life and not run meat industries as we do today.
Nope but I prefer not to watch cows being slaughtered because I kinda like them a lot and at the same time I'm an insane beef eater.

Well murder is a crime. So murdering animals should also be a crime.
Well if you think about it!!! People long time ago 1,000000000 years ago eat meat. So I don't feel bad. Animals are good to eat
Because it happened many years ago how does that justify it? There are some weird cruel shit people did years ago that is now illegal so just because it happened years ago doesn't make it moral

I'm not offended just trying to speak up for those who can't because people are so ignorant they ignore their cries. How can you look at an animal begging for its life and call it food?
Nope, I understand the cycle of life.
Humans/Predators eat animals, when we die plants eat us and then animals eat those plants.
It's something that will continue to happen even if humans are long gone.
This may sound bad but honestly I don鈥檛 feel bad at all.
If meat food taste good, and I feel bad for feeling good, well that would be a tough life wouldn't it
You can feel good on a plant based diet too and nobody has to suffer. Everyone can then feel good it's a win win. Its not a tough life for you. They have the real tough lives. They're the real victims here. Right now there are so many alternatives and mock meats that are realistic as hell and taste great so you should try that
Not at all. There time of any suffering is long since past, and weeping over my foods past life benefits nobody and nothing.
There doesn't have to be suffering. If you switch to a plant based diet there are plenty benefits : nobody has to die, it's better for the environment and could reverse climate change, its better for your health, we could feed those starving in poor countries...
Except there鈥檚 also downsides to it that vegans decide to ignore and dismiss.
Plus at the very least, meat I find delicious.
An animals life is worth so much more than your taste buds its just selfish tbh
Not to me it isn鈥檛. To me, survival and enjoying my life is more important. If that means buying beef from the grocer, or butchering my own deer for the winter, I will do so. You can call it selfish all you like, that doesn鈥檛 bother me.

Fair enough. I should just gather it myself then, would that be better of the two?
Why should I pay more for alternatives I don鈥檛 want?
No, never give it a thought. Pass the steak sauce, please.
Why don't you think about it?
@Pentagram_medallion I'm hungry.
Then eat a vegetable it will do u good
@Pentagram_medallion Too healthy.
Enjoy the hospital so
@Pentagram_medallion Ya gotta die from something. Might as well enjoy it while you're here.
I do not feel bad, I make sure it didn't go in vain and I'll finish my plate.
It doesn't have to be on your plate if you stop paying for it no one has to die as the demand will decline and less animals will be slaughtered.
@Pentagram_medallion This question was focussed on the animals I do eat so those animals usually end on my plate. Nothing will go to waste..
Plants also live, plants also get slaughtered, plants also feel... If we would want nothing to suffer, we should Only Eat Fruits.
Those animals end up on your plate because you pay for it to end up on your plate. Also if you had to chose between cutting a carrot and cutting an animals throat, who do you think will suffer more?

@Pentagram_medallion And what about the plants?
You can't compare a sentient being to a plant. Stop pretending to care about the wellbeing of plants to try justify slaughtering animals
@Pentagram_medallion I'm not justifying animal slaughter. I just don't see why people ignore plants well being and go all out for animals. In my eyes it's just as bad.
How is it just as bad tho?
@Pentagram_medallion I find it wrong to ignore one group, be okay with the plants being slaughtered because you prefer to protect the other. You call us meat eaters. I see your group as plant eaters and nothing more.

@G_oogle_Y_i_ndians_r Manners, please :/

Nope, Bambi died to keep me alive and I doubt any prey animal hates it's predators.
What about the plants? They have recently determined that trees send chemical warning messages of a threat to surrounding trees.
Not really because it's natural, but I do get disgusted with some of the shit people do in factory farming.
