Sometimes I do, but not because they died for me to eat. I feel bad for them because it probably had to live it’s life in terrible conditions before it was slaughtered. Nature is cruel. Animals eat other animals to live, but human beings are the only animals that capture animals, force them to have babies, raise them in filth and confinement, and then murder them. At least in the wild animals get to live free before they are mauled by a tiger or some other animal. The food that makes me feel guiltiest is milk though. The lives of dairy cows are just horrible. When they’re born female cows are taken to become dairy cows and the males are slaughtered for veal. The female cow is raised and once it’s mature it is forcibly impregnated so that it can produce milk. If the baby is a boy it is slaughtered, and if it’s a girl it will be raised like it’s mother. Humans take the mother cows milk for our own consumption. The cows udders can be damaged by this which can cause blood and pus to appear in the milk. The cow lives it’s entire life repeatedly being impregnated, having its babies taken away, and having its milk stolen by us until one day it collapses and refuses to stand. Once the cow goes down it is slaughtered. I watched a whole documentary on this and ever since I don’t drink milk and I stay away from dairy products.

No, since I don't see their actual full dead body in my plate, just some cooked pieces of meat that isn't recognizable. I'd only feel bad if I saw the animal being killed and cut open in front of me. I wouldn't eat that. Just like I dont and wouldn't eat an animal's head either. That's too much for me.
100%. I feel guilty wearing my Nikes. I feel guilty using this phone I'm typing on, I feel guilty knowing that I have it better than 90% of humanity in 2019 because I have food and shelter and more than 20 dollars in my wallet. I try to not feel bad and instead remain aware of my place in the world. I'm unbelievably lucky and if you are reading this so are you. Over 25,000 humans die of malnutrition or lack of water EVERY DAY on this planet but we are lucky enough to not only not be one of those unfortunate souls, we are so lucky we aren't even aware it's happening. We don't even give a moment to think about how lucky we are.
Stay humble. Starve your ego. Feed your soul. Love your neighbors, your enemy, and yourself. Just love, and keep gratitude at the forefront of your mind at all times. This life is a gift and your position means you owe it to yourself and those less fortunate to make the most of it because THEY can't. By simply being alive... as a human of all living creatures, in the year 2019... the odds of you being who you are at this point in time means you have already won the lottery 100x in a row. Use the gift of life wisely and bring love and light to the world around you while you are here.
No. However, if lab-grown meat that was 100% safe (potentially even more nutritious than normal meat) and cost effective was widely available I'd eat it in a heartbeat.
I've killed a larger animal before and it's pretty weird... I would recommend everyone who eats meat personally kills one animal so that they understand what it is to eat meat. We are really disconnected from it since meat processing is done in factories but something has to die every time you eat meat and it's really important that you appreciate that. I've almost never wasted food since.

I eat meat. I think it’s morally wrong the way we manufacture animals for our consumption.
But I probably won’t stop eating meat cuz I’m addicted to it anyways. As I’m sure we all are.
As technology and economy advances and grows, alternatives will arise. At some point our natural desire to be harmonious with nature will produce a cost efficient alternative. As people grow morally these things will become more and more popular and I think eventually the way we treat animals will change for the most part.No.
I felt bad when I gave away my bunnies.
After a few months, I was told that both bunnies had died due to cold in winter last year. But I didn't feel so sad for them this time.
On the same condition, I don't kill the animals that I eat. And those I eat, I never see them get killed.
The emotional attachment lies only in seeing another physical embodiment of a soul in pain. Once that soul has left the body, what's left is just a Corpse.
If you have had memories attached with that physical embodiment, you'll feel sad for that soul for a certain duration until your brain accepts its (animal's) fate.
As neither did I have memories with the chicken I had for lunch today, nor did I kill it or see its pain being killed by the butcher...
No, I don't feel bad for any of those I've eaten.
For the attachment thing...
I've heard people pet pigs and goats in barns, pet them have farm memories with them and kill them with their own hands...I don't ever think about it. We drive part a farm almost every day and see the cows as we do. I don't think they are cows bred for eating but still, those are the things that are in my burger, taco and steaks. And even though I love animals, I also love eating them.
It sucks that we have to eat chickens and cows and other creatures. I don't like to think of them being killed. But they are here for us to eat. We have to realize that every animal on the face of the Earth has a predator pretty much. They eat for survival. Technically so do we.Hmm I don't think so.
But I do try to finish everything. Usually if I'm too full I'd leave some rice or salad left, but I usually always finish the protein.
I don't really have an issue with finishing my food. Even at buffets I finish everything that I put on my plate.
Well unless there's something really wrong with it. Like there was quite a few times where I would grab a few fries. And the fries were so hard and tough felt like I was chewing on jerky.
That's a pro tip never ever get fries from a buffet. Crap probably sits there for days.Of course not. By the time it's on my plate, it's already dead. Am I supposed to get upset and lose my appetite, for what?
Then I lose my appetite, that food goes to waste and that animal died for nothing.
I eat every damn thing on my plate because I don't waste. Plants, animals, water, thry all sacrifice their existence to prolong my own.Yes
Just the process of killing them is kept away from us because obviously most wouldn't be ok with it
I dont think id want to kill an animal to eat it. If i could live healthy off plant based diet. I would
Just we buy meat at the store so its easy to forgetMe not eating meat on my plate won't change it from being dead already. Animals in the meat industry such as cows raised for beef are treated as royalty, the owner of a ranch will take a single cow to 4 diffrent vets to check for diseases or to help it in anyway, im all for killing less animals and treating them the best we can but im not going to stop eating meat that has already been prepared.
Not at all. Although I am aware of how bad a lot of animals are treated in factory farms. Honestly my feelings of hunger always trump everything else. I have started switching out beef for quorn but for health reasons, rather than me caring about animals.
Not at all. Not a single time have I ever felt remorse after eating meat. It is the circle of life, and I am only glad that I have been born human.
We need meat for protein and it is a necessity to our diet. Eating too much meat may not be healthy but eating a balanced diet is.Do you ever feel bad for the plants you eat? They're living organisms, too.
Not really. The food chain exists for a reason. Apex predators such as wolves, bears and lions don't feel bad about eating other animals - in fact it's food! Yummy! They love it.
However I do feel very terrible when the meat spoils or rots. It used to be a living creature and it died and it's remains weren't even consumed. Hence a waste of life. The pnly animal i feel bad for are lobsters as supposely they are suppose to be boiled alive and some people say they actually scream, i think having to eat them after being boiled alive is cruel and i think that them "having" to be boiled alive is a myth.
Yes. As someone working in the field of helping animals it sometimes feels hypocritical.
I've thought about switching to vegetarianism or pescetarianism and I probably will eventually. I've never been crazy about meat anyways. I don't even think bacon is anything special even though everyone seems crazy about it lol.lmfao im slobbering down a huge hunk of chicken breast at this very moment answering this question. so do i feel guilty umm no. people need meat for its protein and iron and other neutriants the body needs. do animals feel guilty for eating other animals when they're hungry no. killing animals for eating consuming meat is fine BUT killing animals for sport is NEVER ok. That's the difference
Veggie. When I was a meat eater, I didn’t feel guilty because I didn’t actively see them slaughtered or relate it to a real animal. I just found it really weird that people ate animals. Now I would never eat meat again. Now I would feel bad
Sometimes. I use to be vegan for a short period of time because of my food allergies it was best for my diet to avoid allergic reactions. I still eat meat not as much ( since it is one of my allergies.)
Do you ever feel bad for the vegetables that you eat? What about all the bugs and wild life that had to be killed to protect your produce?
yes and not just for the animals because meat production is really unsustainable and it's causing more problems than we see... that's why I don't eat meat when I don't have to.
No as a gardener plant's are alive do u feel bad about eating them
No, I am not able to realize the meat I eat results from the the death and suffering of another being. I know it consciously but I can't realize it emotionally if you see what I mean.
